Mustaches... how do you manage yours?

Meggymoo777 · 26/12/2019 01:29

The title really... I'm 31, enjoy and wear make up every day. Thought when I had to start managing my nose hair things were bad!!! 😂 but I have a mustache issue I'll have to tackle next year. Not hugely prominent yet I don't think but the make up definitely is starting to show it up which is not a good sign 🙈

How to you ladies manage your mustaches!

Springy thing. £1 from Primark. I do my chin too.
Works well but stings a bit

Meggymoo777 · 26/12/2019 13:24

Thanks so much for all the replys! Would anybody have a link to the springy thingy?

I hate the springy thing and I find it totally crap. I use a mini battery operated shaver thing. Quick and easy and doesn't give me any skin rashes like a cream or pain like waxing.

Nquartz · 26/12/2019 15:13

I have a facial epilator. I used to get it waxed (and my chin) but it was costing loads so invested in the epilator. Do it every few days so it's not too painful & doesn't take too long

Ginalovesflowers · 26/12/2019 16:28

I don't find any method perfect......I tend to have it waxed when I get my nails done.........

DropZoneOne · 26/12/2019 16:31

Waxed for years, but once the chin hairs started up as well, i splurged on a lumea and it's well worth it.

actiongirl1978 · 26/12/2019 16:33

I use these

Which don't give me a rash and get rid of all my hair which is prolific now I'm 42 - neck, chin, cheeks and everywhere else..

Redcrayons · 26/12/2019 16:38

Also the springy thing. Wish I'd had it 20 years ago.

However I'm finding that it doesn't really work on my chin hairs anymore, so I'm saving my boots points for a Lumea.

BackOnceAgainWithATinselHalo · 26/12/2019 16:39

This is an issue for me. I used to thread or home wax but increasingly I find that results in loads of spots! Dunno if it’s cause I’m leaving it too long in between - light and often might be better. I also have slight sideburns to contend with.

I have electrolysis on my chin but I think it’d be too painful and expensive for my top lip.

whiskersonkittenss · 26/12/2019 16:40

Im very hairy so I use my Philips lumea on my entire face. Works great if you have dark hair

AutumnRose1 · 26/12/2019 16:55

Interesting

I asked before about using Lumea onfacial hair, worried about the safety. But also worried that my moustache is getting more noticeable!!

FruitcakeOfHate · 26/12/2019 16:59

I used Lumea all over my face except in between my eyes (that I had electrolysis on) and it worked a treat. No more tash, sideburns, tiny face hairs, chin hairs.

AutumnRose1 · 26/12/2019 19:15

Thanks Fruitcake

I get issues with hyperpigmentation if I even scratch myself shaving so bit worried.

thisenglishlife · 26/12/2019 19:28

I have PCOS and use the Lumea (you have to shave before treatment). It's been working really well, reduction and slower growth. No pigmentation, roughness or any other issues so far. You're not supposed to use it above the cheeks though, for safety (eyes).

It's works best on pale (or light to lightish) skin and dark hair (my combination). You're not supposed to use it on freckles.

percheron67 · 26/12/2019 19:59

I have been told that , if you have diabetes, the lumea is ineffective. Does anyone know if that is right, please?

CointreauVersial · 26/12/2019 20:01

I use Veet wax strips - the facial ones. Like sticking a plaster to your top lip and ripping off, very quick and cheap. I don't get much of a tache to be honest, so only need to do this every few weeks.

Twigletgirl27 · 26/12/2019 20:21

Veet sensitive once a week for tache and ruthless plucking for those pesky stubbly chin hairs. The menopause sucks!!

jessnoah · 26/12/2019 20:33

Nair facial hair removal cream

jamdhanihash · 26/12/2019 20:34

Epilator once every few weeks on the tache, beard and neck. Astonishing how many dark hairs I've got. Quick and easy.

danni0509 · 26/12/2019 20:38

Those who use hair removal cream, does it leave you red or stinging? Do you buy a specific one for the face?

I'm interested in this, I have a full on tash & chin hair (pcos) I literally have to shave my face every 3rd day. (Not the best thing to do I know!)

BackOnceAgainWithATinselHalo · 26/12/2019 20:45

My hair is brown but has a lot of red in so laser only worked so so for my sideburns so I don’t think a lumea would work for me sadly.

dudsville · 26/12/2019 21:40

Weird timing! I usually completely forget about mine but happened to see it today for the first time in months, must have been the light.

What are we talking here? Mine cover about 1/4 of an inch at each side of my upper lip.

Twigletgirl27 · 26/12/2019 21:58

@danni0509 I use Veet sensitive, 5 minutes max and a little red and stingy but just for a few minutes. Tend to do in evening and all fine next day

Summerfalls · 26/12/2019 21:59

I have mine threaded, and use facial wax strips between when I can’t be bothered to get them threaded or have no time. Also pluck the odd few dark ones with tweezers which hurts like a b@%ch but is satisfying pain at the same time Grin
