Help me choose a watch for £350-400 from Amazon please!

My work has kindly given me a £350 Amazon voucher as a Christmas bonus. The only expensive thing I’d really like to use it on is a classic looking stylish watch.
A while ago I saw this Gucci one, which is a bit out of my price range even with the voucher included:

www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Gucci-YA126595-Silver-STEEL-Woman/dp/B07DDF3ZXS?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-style-and-beauty-3777468-Help-me-choose-a-watch-for-350-400-from-Amazon-please" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Gucci-YA126595-Silver-STEEL-Woman/dp/B07DDF3ZXS

I really like this kind of style but I felt that if I was going to pay that much for one, I’d be better off getting a watch by a “proper watch” brand like the Raymond Weil watch below, rather than a fashion brand.

www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Raymond-Weil-Freelancer-Ladies-Stainless/dp/B0784KFKW1?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-style-and-beauty-3777468-Help-me-choose-a-watch-for-350-400-from-Amazon-please" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Raymond-Weil-Freelancer-Ladies-Stainless/dp/B0784KFKW1

Which brings me to my question! Is there any brand with something in a similar style to the two watches above, which is good quality & costs £400 or less, AND that I can purchase on Amazon?
I really want a silver bracelet watch, ideally with a little bit of bling like the stones on the Raymond Weil watch, and/or a mother of pearl face.
Please can any of you help?!
Or am I going to have to save some money myself and just get the Raymond Weil one?! Grin

What about Tissot? In that range, nice feel, known brand, for sale on Amazon.

Ladyratterley · 26/12/2019 00:45

Thanks Nancy. That’s super helpful!
I’ve had a quick look and it looks like Amazon are likely to have something by Tissot that fits the bill.
Perhaps this one:
www.amazon.co.uk/T035-210-61-011-00-Tissot-Couturier-Analogue-Stainless/dp/B006Q7FLZ0?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I’m just a bit clueless when it comes to watch brands and am not sure where to start. If I’m going to treat myself I want something good quality which is going to last.
I knew the ladies of S&B would have some ideas!

I wouldn't. The risk of it being a fake off amazon is too high

Ladyratterley · 26/12/2019 00:59

Ah. Yes. I’ve just seen that Tissot one is coming from a company in Cambodia which seems dodgy.
I just don’t know what else I really want from Amazon which costs much money! Tricky.

One piece of advice, if you get an 'expensive' - I know that term is relative - then batteries cannot always be fitted on the high street, you might need to send your watch away and pay quite a lot.

For that reason I'd go for one that doesn't use a battery, I have 2 citizen eco drive and a casio sheen, the latter links to my phone so I can use my phone to set the time and that means it automatically adjusts when the clocks go forward/back.

Go for a watch name rather than a designer, the designer watches are not the best mechanism, you pay just for the name.

What about this www.amazon.co.uk/Citizen-Watch-Supertitanio-Eco-Drive/dp/B075LH2HCB/ref=sr_1_3?rnid=199512031&s=watch&crid=3LFAZX4JPKHF2&keywords=eco+drive+watches+ladies&sprefix=eco+drive%2Cwatches%2C186&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1577324394&refinements=p_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A4793603031%2Cp_n_style_browse-bin%3A199595031%2Cp_36%3A197575031%2Cp_n_format_browse-bin%3A11620882031%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A199514031&sr=1-3

Ignore what it says about it being 'automatic' it actually runs on daylight.

Thanks @sashh, I’ll check those out. The one you linked to is lovely apart from the dark face, I prefer a light one. But they seem to have similar with mother of pearl faces.

I rather like this one!

Or perhaps this Tissot one.

I like both of them, although with your budget I'd personally go for real diamonds rather than crystal.

www.citizenwatch.co.uk/ladies/collection/diamond.html?product_list_limit=48

If you are set on Citizen then have a look at their website and then find the same watch on Amazon, the same for Tisso.

Gemma2019 · 27/12/2019 02:22

I've got a silver colour Vivienne Westwood orb watch with mother of Pearl face, bought from Amazon a couple of years ago. It's lovely and I get lots of compliments when I wear it.

MerryDeath · 27/12/2019 11:13

i wouldn't get anything like that from amazon. amazon sells everything, pay cash for the watch from somewhere reputable and subscribe for your life's worth of loo roll or something from amazon.

Ladyratterley · 27/12/2019 11:56

Thanks ladies. Unfortunately after falling into a watch based internet search hole I’m now keen on a more expensive one!

The seller seems to be ok.
I’m going to see if I can have a look at a few of these in real life before making the plunge.

It's a lovely watch, OP.

I think Tissot are an excellent blend of style and reliability. If you want to see them in person, I think they sell them in John Lewis.

Ladyratterley · 27/12/2019 12:44

@nancydrawn Great minds think alike. That’s where I’m going to head this afternoon to check it out if I get time!
It would only cost me £200 of my own money so if I like it in real life I might go for it.

A good choice
