Golden goose trainers

Does anyone have these? Are they worth the price?

I don't but was inspecting a pair yesterday, keen to see if they justified the £400 price tag (glitter ones) Could not fathom that price point. You're def paying for the 'label'. The faux distressing looked really badly done too. They didn't look particularly special/comfortable inside - bog standard insole etc.

KimchiLaLa · 24/12/2019 23:45

That's good to know, thank you

Have you seen the air and grace trainers? Similar to GGD

SmellMySmellbow · 25/12/2019 08:48

Yes - air and grace much more sensibly priced and no worse quality... if you want the whole glitter vibe also look at Criminal. I'm sporting a new pair of Veja's I got for Christmas. Again, pricey but not in GG range but really comfy (and I like the sustainability aspect which justifies the higher price as I know they cost 4x more the make than similar pairs)

KimchiLaLa · 25/12/2019 13:56

I actually don't like the glitter ones. Just the normal stars. Have found some on sale, nowhere near £400...but will check out air and grace. I bought canvas veja' on sale also, the leather ones look great but cut in to me.

So I have a pair of golden goose. Paid just over £200 for them with a discount code from Farfetch.

They are amazingly comfortable and I’ve worn them loads of times, feel like I’ve totally justified the price.

I’m not interested in a pair of high tops

Newhouse76 · 25/12/2019 15:40

I have them! I bought them from Bicester Village so they were at a bit of a discount.

They are nice but ive had comfier trainers to be honest

Mominatrix · 25/12/2019 15:48

I have a couple pair. They aren't the most comfortable, but they look the best. They do run small so I'd advise trying them on first.

nearlythere12 · 25/12/2019 21:30

I have 2 pairs, around £300 each. I love them but I have a high instep & find them so comfy & no breaking in needed. I will buy more in future but sometimes find them a bit too jazzy if that makes sense.

KimchiLaLa · 25/12/2019 22:35

Thanks all. Worried about the comment re them running small as I did buy a pair on sale online without seeing that comment today, to see if I like them. Did everyone find this?

I have lots of pairs over the years and have always found them true to size so don't worry OP.

nearlythere12 · 26/12/2019 02:06

I find them true to size, if anything a little big.

Mominatrix · 27/12/2019 16:15

I think sizing is dependant on style. Superstars run pretty true to size, but I prefer the May, which runs small.

Anotherdayanothernight · 30/12/2019 13:15

I just got a pair of Superstars in the sales, 40% off, sooo comfortable and true to size. Had been looking for a while but couldn't justify the price!

helpneedshoes · 30/12/2019 13:16

ooh where?

Lily193 · 30/12/2019 14:52

I have lots of pairs of Golden Goose trainers. The quality has always been excellent and they're very comfortable and run true to size. Well worth the money.

troppibambini · 30/12/2019 14:58

I have a pair and wear them loads.

JillGoodacre · 30/12/2019 15:35

I've got a pair love them! They're dead comfy

helpneedshoes · 30/12/2019 15:58

Random question, anyone had them resoled or is that not possible?

baileysandamincepie · 30/12/2019 20:51

helpneedshoes I’m not sure any trainers could be resoled? I guess you could take them to a cobbler, they might put a really thin rubber sole on but probably best to do that before the wear happens.

helpneedshoes · 30/12/2019 21:01

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I've worn down my favourite pair & then don't currently have some similar. I prefer the less busy styles

Anotherdayanothernight · 30/12/2019 21:25

helpneedshoes, I bought them from Net a Porter last week but think they have sold out now. Might be worth looking though as they seem to add new lines occasionally!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2019 10:03

I also tried a pair from the NaP sale just before Christmas, and sent them back. The distressing really didn't suit me, and the laces didn't seem to want to be done up tightly and I was walking out of the backs of them, which seemed very shallow on my heel. But mainly I didn't realise they were skater shoes, they look so sleek on other people but on me from above they looked really wide and boat shaped. But at least I scratched that itch Smile
