Dermaplaning - any good??

Has anyone had dermaplaning? Is it any good? What's your face like after? People say you break out in spots is this true? Some people say your face is really red after is that true? Tell me your experiences!

We were talking about it, sort of, here!

Patchworkquilt24 · 21/12/2019 22:34

Thanks but I meant going to get it done not doing it at home Smile

Following as interested in having it done.

Isn't it basically shaving..?

Ninjakittysmellz · 22/12/2019 15:42

Ahh sorry!

I used to get it done in a salon. Face was pink in the fresh, clean, shiney sense - but not red. I didn’t get break outs either, my skin would just look fresher. I used to get it done with the CACI facial at the same time though so not sure which was which having an effect.

In all honestly though, I have swopped to doing it myself at home and there is literally zero difference between my results and the salon. I’d rather do my own dermaplaning and get an Elemis facial instead.

frosted glad you asked - I've been meaning to ask the same thing: everything I've read makes it sound like a very close shave...

anonacatchat · 22/12/2019 15:48

Hell no .

My derm doesn't recommend

I feel like dermaplaning is just the latest fad. It's basically shaving your face. Unless you have a real problem with facial hair, just regularly exfoliate at home and you will get the same results.

My daughter has just had this done and her skin looked lovely and fresh
I just go over mine with a razor carefully and it looks fine

MandalaYogaTapestry · 22/12/2019 22:18

Why would you shave your face??

mrslebon · 23/12/2019 23:31

I had it done professionally a couple of weeks ago and I'm really happy with it. Skin like a baby's bum afterwards plus she removed a few blackheads and millia whilst she was at it. My face just felt sooo clean! Make up went on a treat the next day. I wouldn't dare do it myself!
