Spots on forehead - why?

Legomadx2 · 18/12/2019 19:26

I am mid 40s and have never been a spotty person but I have recently broken out in spots across my forehead.

I haven't changed my beauty routine or started using a new detergent so can't think what's provoked it.

Why have I suddenly got them now? And why there?

And how do I get rid of them?

Please help!

Do you have a fringe and have you tried a new conditioner? Moroccan Oil gave me spots

dudsville · 18/12/2019 20:32

Hormone shift?

Growingboys · 17/01/2020 20:31

Sorry both, I never got notifications for this so assumed no-one ever replied.

Thank you for your replies. I don't have a fringe or new hair products, but maybe it is hormones?

Very odd. They are slowly fading now but I'm still totally puzzled!

My skin started to change in my 40s too. It was spots around my nose that bothered me. Never had a spot in twenty years and suddenly they were popping up weekly! Had to change my skincare products. Annoying!

I refer you to the 1st 4 words of your OP
The joys of mid-life hormone shifts 🙄

Retailqueenie · 17/01/2020 22:25

I’ve had lots of little white cysts appear on my face - not spots - mid 40s, think it’s hormonal but nothing will shift them??

plunkplunkfizz · 17/01/2020 22:29

Dry shampoo? Happened to someone I know recently.

ViciousJackdaw · 18/01/2020 01:13

I too have the skin of a teenager at the age of 43. Mark the day they appeared on your calendar, just for reference so if they appear again you can check for a pattern/trigger.

tequilasunrises · 21/01/2020 21:34

I’ve always had little under skin spots on my forehead - never ever been smooth my whole teen/adult life. The ordinary retinol cleared them up though!

Growingboys · 24/01/2020 15:09

Thanks again all. Urgh bet you're right @thedevilinablackdress

And great tip about marking them on a calendar @ViciousJackdaw

I don't use dry shampoo @plunkplunkfizz

Can't bear the thought of changing my skincare.... I went to a dermatologist years ago who told me exactly what to get and I can't face going through all that again!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2020 18:47

Yep, hormones. I got full on cystic acne at 40 and had to take roaccutane.

Growingboys · 24/01/2020 20:22

OK thanks @Fluffycloudland77 how depressing. If they get worse I might head to a dermatologist.
