Inexpensive perfume for work?

Hi everyone Smile

Looking for some recommendations for a perfume for work that won’t break the bank. I work in a uni so any light, inoffensive scents welcome... I’m not very fussy Grin Longevity is a big bonus as I’m often out for about 12 hours and even my pricey ones struggle to last the day. Thank you!

I read that zara has a lot of dupes for famous brands. My step kids wear lots from there and it's 9.99 for decent sized bottles.

ParkheadParadise · 18/12/2019 00:09

New Look and Next have good cheap perfumes

BerwickLad · 18/12/2019 00:11

Primark love noir is apparently a Chanel chance dupe. It's also very nice and £3 (!) a bottle.

BerwickLad · 18/12/2019 00:13

Also some of the celebrity perfumes are good - they're big names so I guess it makes sense that they'll get a decent team on their scents. I like sjp lovely and Britney spears midnight fantasy. They're often on offer including the parfum which of course lasts a while.

LemonadePockets · 18/12/2019 00:18

go on Amazon & search Milton Lloyd fragrances. Near exact smell alikes and last hours and hours. Roughly £5 for 50ml bottles, they’re a fab company.

AFemale · 18/12/2019 00:24

I love Marc Jacobs Daisy, Dot and Honey and try to pick the up when on offer.

Honey was £21 on Debenhams the other day.

The factory shop usually has some good prices there too.

Primark has some lovely ones.

RevIMJolly · 18/12/2019 00:30

The White Company do nice ones for about £30. But you can always find 15 - 20per cent off if you join the mailing list.
‘Day’ is particularly nice and light and lasts for ages.

Charles11 · 18/12/2019 00:34

M&S have some really nice ones too.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 18/12/2019 00:37

Try looking for your favourites on eBay. Often new "tester" bottles are very good prices compared to high street & genuine fragrances. Or try some miniture sets & see what works for you.

Another vote for New Look or Next

dkl55 · 18/12/2019 09:29

A friend of mine had a Zara one that was a dead ringer for jo malone - lovely citrusy/basil smell.

BillywigSting · 18/12/2019 09:32

The new look ones do smell lovely but don't last. I like cerutti 1886 for work

peachypetite · 18/12/2019 09:38

Zara smell lovely but have no staying power

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 18/12/2019 09:49

I vote one of the Zara ones, they are so cheap, and the rollerball ones are so handy when you're on the go.

I used to have White Company Noir, but it's started to go funny smelling on me after a few hours.. but it does last.

Next cashmere is a favourite on the perfumista thread (and they know what they’re talking about!)

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 18/12/2019 10:18

Also next cashmere lasts all day long for me. It’s a feminine musky scent and not too “sweet”

WhatTheFronti · 18/12/2019 11:48

I love simple scents - currently have a few from French company solinotes (rose, musk, cherry blossom) and rollerball perfumes from Apieu (Korean I think) bought off of yesstyle - love the plum scent! It's beautiful! Want to get the "wool" & "cashmere" next order... only $7/8 au each so prob only cost 4-5 pound...

fishonabicycle · 18/12/2019 14:35

Get dupes from perfume parlour - really cheap.

Tinyandpetite · 18/12/2019 23:19

Primark- hey babe, the name, I know. It’s absolutely gorgeous if you like coconut, you will adore this. £5 a bottle

Bodyshop White Musk is a classic and Black Musk smells similar to YSL Black Opium and is cheaper and cruelty free.

Honeybee85 · 18/12/2019 23:34

My ex collegue was always raving about Lidl perfumes but never tried them.

The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom is very lovely and inexpensive.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea is often found for a low price and is very fresh and lovely smelling.

Cerutti 1881 as another poster mentioned is absolutely gorgeous, smells expensive and doesn’t cost a lot usually.

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 18/12/2019 23:36

Check the blog I Scent You A Day. She has written blog post on naice, budget perfumes

Honeybee85 · 18/12/2019 23:36

Guess eau de toilette/ eau de parfum is lovely too albeit a bit heavier smelling

Rachelfromfriends1 · 18/12/2019 23:48

I bought YSL libre today in the smallest size specifically for work (I keep it in my handbag!). I definitely recommend it, watch the upcoming sales as fragrance gift sets are typically heavily reduced, you should find a gift set bargain!

I also recommend Zara and Victoria secret fragrances!

Rachelfromfriends1 · 18/12/2019 23:49

White company noir is amazing! But I oddly prefer it as room/house sprayBlush
