Any "The Ordinary" experts out there?

Evening Mumsnetters!

In a (probably futile) attempt to halt the inevitable march of time, I've invested in a few The Ordinary products.

Only i think I got a bit...erm....carried away when ordering and now i have all these exciting sounding products and not a single clue how to layer them!

So, I have Squalene cleanser (used this before and love it, this is my second tube), Vitamin C 23% (was persuaded to get this by a recent S&B post), Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5, Buffet, Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squaline and (finally) Rosehip Seed Oil.

Of course, the boxes all have instructions on them, but I'm not sure what i should use and in what order.

Does anyone have any tips, hints of suggestions? All gratefully received!

Oh, and I'm a proper lazy cow in the mornings, so I don't really 'do' morning skincare routines. My reasoning is that the less time i spend getting ready, the more time I can snooze in bed. However, I'm prepared to drag myself from under my cosy comfy duvet if it means I'll have miraculously beautiful glowing skin as a result Wink

Hylauronic acid on damp skin after cleansing am/pm, before other serums and before moisterizer

Vit C at night after cleansing and other serums

Rose hip oil at night after as a last step after moisterizer

Retinoids are evening treatment though not sure if you can use them along side Vit C, after other water based serums.

I'm no expert btw Grin but hopefully there will be one along soon! I find it all a bit confusing!

ihatethecold · 17/12/2019 06:20

I’ve only purchased the rosehip oil that I use 3 times a week at night.
I’d love to buy more but it’s very confusing.

I’m after a day moisturiser but I’m not sure they do one.

I’d also like some hyaloronic acid for normal skin that getting wrinkles.
I wouldn’t know when to use it Confused

Go to products and regimens on the link above and they will get back to you with advice

Kaz2200 · 17/12/2019 06:52

I have a few ordinary products and the only advice I have is to get a marker pen and write on the bottles when to use, so I have hyluaronic acid so that has am and pm on it, I have vit c, so pm after hyaluronic, a couple of exfoliator, so one is wed pm, another Fri pm. Hope that all makes sense. Although still not sure I've got them in the right order, at least they are all being used.

@Girlintheframe Thank you so much for that, it's exactly what I needed, it sounds nice and easy to follow!

Their own website has suggested regimes. You can’t just combine them randomly it won’t work.

HornsOfADilemma01 · 17/12/2019 08:37

@ihatethecold I've been using the rose hip oil for a few weeks and I really like it (apart from it seems to make my fringe a bit greasy). I like the fact that the products are cheap and no-frills. So, if they don't work for you, it's not too much of a financial hit to chuck them and try something else.

@Raildolly I based my initial purchase (a few weeks ago) on their suggested anti aging regime, and I do like the products (although I've not seen any dramatic improvement yet).

I didn't realise you can contact them with specific questions. I'll definitely do that, many thanks.

Yeah I have about 6 ordinary products and I just wasn't using them, so worked out which were water based and oil based. I think the water based go on first. I also looked on the website as the writing on the bottles is tiny.

HornsOfADilemma01 · 17/12/2019 14:38

@Kaz2200 Yep, dodgy eyesight here too. I have taken to photographing the writing then zooming in so I can read it.....getting old is really crap..
