Boots with good tread for wet, slippery cobbles

Where I live, if it gets wet then the ground is often very slippy (cobbles and similar). I’ve taken to wearing my Joules welibobs to work when it’s wet out and they’ve been fine for traction. However, they’ve now ripped down the back and I’m loathe to get any more.

Ideally I’d like something that I can wear all day at work without it looking like a, well, wellie. I’d prefer laces and prefer shorter as I have large calves. I don’t have time to break in Docs for this purpose right now.

I’m torn between the Hunter Commando boot, Timberland Nellie (concerned they may be too heavy), Sorel Out n About Plus Conquest or Sorel Ainsley Conquest. Maybe even Ash Siberia (might be too high) or Ugg Ankle Mini Rebel Biker.

Any experiences with any of the above, or any suggestions?

I just bought a pair of long leather Marco Tozzi boots like these

They have an elastic gusset in the leg for muscular calves. Very comfy.
