Size 18 busty with big tummy. What do I wear?

Stuck! Been shopping and hate everything.
I’m a gg/h cup size 18 and lets face it sometimes a 20. I am working on losing weight and getting back into my size 14’s but currently have very limited clothing as in 2 dresses and a cardigan
Went shopping and hated everything. Anything empire line as in cut to go in under the busy made me look 9months pregnant.

Used to love the jersey dresses from Boden but as they are generally cut for women with small busts the line would be under my busy. However tummy wasn’t big so looked fine.

I felt too frumpy in leggings and tunic and I just don’t have any casual clothes at all.

Where can I buy nice fine knit jumpers that are bum covering preferable not too high neck?

I am a Mumsnet typical mumsy in that I like Boden white stuff and fat face. I’m open to all brands but those would be my highest price budget wise.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Monsoon would be a good place to start, and they have 25% off everything today.

NancyJoan · 15/12/2019 12:38

This would be a nice everyday dress with tights and boots.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 15/12/2019 20:41

www.bravissimo.com/collections/all-clothing/

Is good for the busty, I've bought quite a few things from there lately & via eBay (mostly new) to help with the budget. On dresses like Leila there's a built in under layer to smooth. It's not super stylish but i love having clothes that look tailored now.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 16/12/2019 18:26

Thanks bravissimo was suggested to me by a friend. Will definitely look.

I am the same size and shape as you. I found loads of lovely dresses at Asda last week. All about £20. I also buy lots off Asos Curve.

Seasalt are worth a look too.

StCharlotte · 17/12/2019 22:26

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 29/12/2019 19:47

I’m a busty 18 and am watching with interest...

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 29/12/2019 20:48

Me too Grin

Am enjoying the sales, have bought stuff from nomad clothing, monsoon, thought clothing and lily and me.

Hoping they will fit.

BBOA · 29/12/2019 21:03

Watching with interest too. Anything too bold, patterned or smock like looks like a huge billowing tent hanging off my boobs. It's a nightmare! Bottom half a bit slimmer so end up looking like a fab ice lolly or something. No point wearing anything like spanx as it just oozes out somewhere else!!

peanutbutterandbanana · 29/12/2019 22:15

Check out Box2 - fabulous clothes (especially trousers) for the larger woman .....

Gap boat neck midi dress is my go to for work and can be dressed up or down with colourful tights or different shoes.

Gap in general has some really nice jersey and knit basics that are good quality. I'm a 20-22 and wear xl or xxl

Yours clothing drape dress is really comfy and has pockets!!!

StylishMummy · 29/12/2019 23:11

Popsy dresses are absolutely brilliant for busts, I'm similar proportions to you and wear them all the time

Following too just looking online for some new workwear

Cupcake5678 · 30/12/2019 18:30

Sea salt have a sale and do well cut clothes, snag tights are amazing for something different to leggings under tunics/dresses. Scarlett & Jo have dresses which are not as casual but lovely.

Feelinggoodashell · 30/12/2019 18:32

I’m slightly bigger than you but I really like the oasis curve range - have some lovely dresses. Fit and flare style would suit your shape.

Feelinggoodashell · 30/12/2019 18:33

You could also look at the phase 8 plus range called studio 8. They have some nice bits. And some frumpy but there are a few nice bits

TowelStripes · 30/12/2019 18:36

I would very highly recommend the styled by susie online analysis if you can. Its £35 for the basic package and if you can afford it, the gold (£65) will give you the best advice about what suits you, including jeans.

It has saved me loads of money in the long run at I've bought fewer items but ones that I love and look great in, instead of loads of new stuff I never wear but keep buying!
