It's time for face cream...

I'm 32, skincare regime is pretty much non existent and I wear make up on average once a week.

My skin has been starting to feel more tight /itchy recently and the little bits of random moisturiser I've had out of advent calendars are coming to an end!

So I figured it's time to start being a grown up... Any recommendations? I saw a deal for a big box of no 7 protect/perfect but it's still much more than a £1 tube of nivea... is it worth spending money? Does anyone have good recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Try some cheap ones - Aldi, superdrug, boots. If they work OK for you then great. I think better to use a cheap moisturiser generously than an expensive one occasionally.

I’m the same age as you. I just use Simple in the morning and Nivea at night. Occasional sheet mask if I’m feeling in the mood. My skin feels a lot better since I started using the cream at night rather than just the moisturiser in the morning.

It's all down to personal preference. I'm not keen on No7, doesn't suit my skin type.
The ordinary moisterizer is good and not very pricey

Nivea Soft is fabulous for the day and Nivea Blue Tin for night .

Good n cheap Nivea soft or blue, astral and Aveeno . More pricey I quite like any Origins products.

I'm 31 OP, I've just bought a nice one from Aldi, it's really nice.

I bought both of these for under a tenner

Marks and Spencer do a nice range. I have put pixi glow serum on my list for Christmas they look lovely

I really recommend that whichever face cream you choose should have at least spf15 in it to protect your skin from the sunlight which can cause lines & age spots...

In the summer if you spend longer than half an hour outside you should wear a facial sun lotion instead of face cream of at least spf30 & reapply it regularly.

I currently use Boots No7 Protect & Perfect day cream which has spf15.

I also wear an anti ageing face serum under my day cream but I'm 43 - at 32 you probably don't need serum.

Thank you all. I shall start cheap (with spf) and put something on at night. Much appreciated!

Superdrug Vitamin E cream - they do a day and night one. They were on offer but not sure now. Also blue tin Nivea or Astral or Some of the Garnier stuff.

I am a few years (ahem, sixty next year) but find those creams aimed at targeting wrinkles, firming up are too drying for me. I like the Liz Earle stuff and can occasionally wear Astral but not always. Cannot wear the blue tin Nivea. I do like the Superdrug vitamin E range too.

Having a fat face is a blessing. I don't have many wrinkles at all compared with others of my age. I also don't smoke and rarely drink (last night was a rarity!!). Mind you a porter asked if I was ok and I said yes but he asked if I had been ill!!! I had had mild Norovirus for a few days but bounced back.
