Over the knee boots

Night out tonight. Still trying to decide what to wear!
Oufit so far coated black jeggings and a silk green shirt.
My original plan was to wear leather lace up ankle boots but something just doesn't look right.
I have a lovely pair of suede over the knee boots that I've hardly worn. So is it still acceptable to wear over the knee boots or are they completely out? Please help!! I'm driving myself mad here!

Over the knee boots are very in at the moment. Sadly I don’t have the legs for them, as I’m so short. I think all boots are over the knee boots on me

I think it's better if they're flat or low heel.
