Bad haircut -what to do?

I need some advice. I misguidedly had my hair cut by someone I know through an activity I do who I is a hairdresser working as from home. She looked at photos of me with different hairstyles and seemed to know what she was doing.

It looked fine at first but now It's uneven and seems thicker in some places than others and won't fall into shape. It's also much shorter. This was 3 weeks ago.

I've decided I won't be going back to her - even though I see her most weeks. I'm going back to a hairdresser I like even though it means a driving to my home town 40 miles away.

My question is would it be too soon to get it cut yet at 3 weeks or should I put up with it a bit longer and hang til January when it will be about 8 weeks growth? Help

If you're unhappy with it right now, why wouldn't you get it cut to sort it out

Could you call your home town hairdresser and have a chat with them? You could always text them some photos of your hair now. I'd say it's probably best to wait a bit until it's grown longer and they've got more hair to work with, but they might look at the photos and tell you they can fix it now.

I would get it recut as soon as, although I would imagine most decent places are fully booked between now and New year.

Get it redone, I decided to try an upmarket salon for a 'treat' I came out with 2 different styles on either side of my head, I went home cried, next day after I wash it myself and discovered the full horror of what the stylist did, I phoned my normal hairdresser told her what had happened, she fitted me in the following day and sorted my hair out, I now will never leave her and I give her a good tip because I am so grateful to her.

Get it evened up asap!

If you get it sorted out now by your trusted hair dresser then it will grow down better than if it is a mess. Otherwise you will have given it 8 weeks growth for it to then be chopped off whereas if you get it done now it should to my way of thinking recover more quickly. You also don't want to put up with a rubbish hair cut over Christmas and new year.

Get it re-texturised now, not taking more off the length, but working it into a more live-able style.

Thanks for all your replies. You helped to to decide what to do instead of me dithering

I've texted him and he's going to see me Wednesday afternoon then we'll plan it from there.
