Water marks on velvet jacket

I have a beautiful velvet jacket, which I stupidly wore the other day when it was drizzling. It now has little water marks all over it

It's dry clean only. Do you think the dry cleaning will get rid of the marks?

This happened to me too and I found what looks like good advice here but I haven't got around to dealing with it.

Thank you - that's really helpful. I might take it to the dry cleaners and see what they say, then try this method if they don't think they can sort it out.
