Has anyone managed to reduce large pores?

The pores around my nose have always been quite large and dark. I've tried lots of products that are meant to reduce pore sizes, but haven't had any luck. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Garden ofWisdom Azelaic Acid.

Cutting back the amount of sugar in my diet really helped.

How is the rest of your skin?

Unfortunately the size of your pores is the size of your pores.
However if they are congested (with blackheads) they will appear bigger so keeping them 'clear' will help them look better. Glycolic acid is good for exfoliating the skin and thus the blackheads. Or possibly something with 2% salicylic acid once or twice a day to clear them and keep them clear might be better. And keep using it or they will come back.
Paula's Choice does a few 2% preparations. If your skin is dryer the lotion will suit you better.

A retinoid wouldhelp too if your skin can tolerate it.

Don't forget your SPF and make sure you use products that are non-comedogenic.

Glycolic acid is your friend! Nip+Fab (currently cheap in TKMaxx) is very effective as is Alpha A Liquid Gold.

The ordinary niacinimide

As a PP said the size of your pores is what it is - you can’t make them smaller. But, you can affect their appearance.

Seconding everyone’s recommendations for glycolic acid. I use Beauty Pie’s Dr Glycolic which works well - 2-3 times per week. I also use The Inkey List’s PHA toner which is milder but still delivers a gentle chemical exfoliation.

You could try a facial with extraction, if you think your pores are blocked with blackheads or similar? I extract at home (not sexy) using a tool, but get some advice before you do it yourself!
