Hi all
Have any of you got a subscription with birchbox or any other beauty subscription and what are your thoughts.

I recently got the black Friday 2 for £5 and today received my December box. I must say I'm happy with the products I received so far all the products are something I will use... however I suppose what I would like to know is anyone who has/had birchbox do they consistently send items matching my "profile" or does it get mundane after a certain amount if months (say 5/6) just to keep subscriptions coming in.

Can you recommend any other subscriptions that you can swear by... for instance you recieve great products and no repeats or not very often

I used to subscribe to Birchbox for around 6 months, and I cancelled because they were sending me the same rubbish every month. Nothing was tailored to my profile, and I would see other people on social media getting full size cosmetic products from popular brands, whilst I was getting the same tiny tubes of hand cream or hair conditioner. I had a couple of eyeliners I likes, but that was about it.

I've been getting Birchboxes since January and honestly I really like them. I'd say I probably enjoy 80% of the products and have bought 7 full sized items in the last 11 months. Maybe stick with it for a bit and see how you get on? As pp says it seems that people have different experiences.

Thank you both for your insight... as I said I'm currently please with the 3 boxes I have had.. I had a lovely eyebrow brush and cream thing in November box really like that... a few reviews said lots of dr pawpaw items I wouldnt mind I'm forever running out.. it took me a while to actually subscribe and so far so good hope it lasts

My experience was similar to the first poster. The first two boxes were pretty decent with a couple of good products in there and then it turned to shit. Tiny sample sizes of brands that I had never heard of while instagram/facebook showed me people recieving full sizes of known/nice brands. Personally I wouldn't bother with it again but if you do subscribe they have a free Iconic highlighter offer for all new subscribers this month. The code is on their website. It's actually a good brand as well so it's worth doing.

@WeCameToDanceWithTheDead I saw that I subscribed last month... and in all honesty I have no clue what to do with highlighter I'd look daft ... my daily makeup routine is fill the gaps in my brows some lip balm and a lick of mascara, if I'm feeling really sassy I'll use some eyeliner... 🙈 shameful I know!! I subscribed for the hair and skin products really I've already decided all the bits and Bob's I recieve that I wont use will get chucked in a drawer an made into a little gift bag for my sisters birthday in June .....titghtwad I am

I have it, I want to cancel it.
Same stuff every month, different brands.
There is only so much hand cream and shower gel I really need. I’m going to raise a complaint with the them. I initially signed up for 6 months, and it auto renewed for a further 6 months and I can’t cancel
Until the 11th month.
Absolute joke. Save your money!

Back2Bali · 12/12/2019 22:24

@bubblesforlife i was worried about repetitive products so I'm doing month by month for now. Why not gift some of the smaller samples to a friend that may be going on holiday could come in really handy for them

I used to have a subscription for Birchbox, cancelled after 6 months as it became too repetitive and the 'full size' items were always travel size.

By the end it was always hair care and sunscreen. I just wanted the makeup items. Found a few gems and just buy the bits I like now

Russell19 · 12/12/2019 22:27

I ended up with lots of hair frizz smoother cream.....about 5 different ones! And lots of eyebrow pencils which I did like but I wish they'd have more variety. I cancelled mine.

Well I'll keep it month by month for the time being ro see how I get on I didnt want to fully commit to it with a longer subscription just yet. Thanks everyone
