Does anyone go on sunbeds? How many times a week do you go on them and how long for?
I've recently started using them but don't want to get to addicted and go on the to much.

I go once a fortnight for 12 minutes.
I have psoriasis and started going after UV treatment helped clear it.

I thought no one used them due to skin cancer scares! Do they still exist? I wouldn’t go near one!

MoltonSilver · 10/12/2019 08:52

I didn't think anyone used them anymore.

NHS website info on Sunbeds:
"They can cause your skin to age prematurely, making it look coarse, leathery and wrinkled"
"Prolonged exposure to UV rays increases your risk of developing malignant melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer."

The psoriasis issue is different but of its just for a tan there are lots of great fake tans out there.

I agree with @MoltonSilver OP - all skin tones are beautiful and sunbeds cause premature aging. No one needs a tan to look attractive.

If you feel like you must have a tan there are good fake tans available.

I met a young woman (late teens) once who was quite tan in January and I asked her if she had just come back from holiday, but she said it was just sunbeds. She had crows feet and other wrinkles. I’ve never seen someone so young look so “old”. I think she must have been an excessive user, but even if you’re just using them a bit they’re still accelerating the aging process.

Not to mention the skin cancer risk.
