I want to get highlights done and the salon I want to go to has a policy that everyone has to get a patch test (they put a bit of the stuff on your arm to see if you get a reaction) if you haven't coloured your hair at that salon in the last 12 months. Fair enough, I'm glad they do this - people can develop allergies they didn't previously have and they can be very dangerous. I've been a bit
at other salons that don't require any skin test at all.
However they say it needs to be between 5 days and 48 hours before your colour appointment. This seems like a very narrow window to me, and as I have a toddler would mean taking DC in on a weekday for the test in order to go to the appointment on a Saturday. Has anyone else come across this policy - that it can't be any more than 5 days beforehand?
They told me this on the phone but the website only says it needs to be at least 48 hours beforehand.
