Seeking the perfect white vest top

DatsunCogs · 06/12/2019 14:41

Has anyone got any pointers for where I can look for the perfect white top? I want something I can wear under a suit jacket so fitted, but not at all see through.

A friend suggested Zara basic tops which on me are very low cut and won't do!

So: thick material, not low cut (but not high/crew neck), not see through. And not long arms as loads of my jackets have 3/4 sleeves

Any suggestions please? Smile

As weird as it sounds I haven't found better than primark pyjama vests.

I tried boohoo/ too tight, sweaty fabric
Asos- too big on chest
Sainsbury's - too long job the straps
New look - only cropped in fashion

White company do decent vests that aren’t see through

DatsunCogs · 06/12/2019 16:53

Thanks for these, will take a look at White Company, thank you.

@Purpleframes do you mean the lace top ones? I love them and have loads but was hoping for a plain neckline, if they do plain they might well work, thanks

They have a bra top design one with adjustable bra like straps- think the rest is plain.

What about a bodysuit vest like this from boohoo?

Next?

DatsunCogs · 07/12/2019 09:19

@joeler I don't think I could deal with the thong part!

Believe it or not but Mataland vests fit your criteria perfectly. They're thick, not see through, very comfortable and keep their shape well and aren't low cut.

I'm taking about the very basic no frills or lace basic ones with the wide straps. They are a decent length too.

Hobbs do tops which are double layered at the front so not at all see through.

Hush, can't be bettered. Good, thick cotton and long so perfect for layering (if that's what you want). If it's more underwear you're after then Uniqlo Heattech is the business.

There is a company called the perfect white t-shirt or something and they do a full range I think!

Biancadelrioisback · 07/12/2019 13:20

Sorry, they're called the white t-shirt company.
I've met the owner before at a networking event and she said the whole reason she made the company was because she was always annoyed at never having a good white t-shirt

DatsunCogs · 07/12/2019 15:08

These are all brilliant, I have loads to try now! Will let you know results as I get through them all. Thank you Smile
