Skin care revamp - where to spend £50 quid

I need to revamp my skin care a bit. Mid 40s, not too many wrinkles but dull, uneven and a bit coarse.

My lovely boss has given me a voucher via our company 'thank you' scheme which I have to cash in asap. It's one of those schemes where you can pick from a variety of retailers but only one (so the whole £50 had to come from one place).

I know from experience I need to ringfence this and spend the voucher just on me otherwise it goes into the family pot and spent in the kids/food shopping etc. DH is adamant I shouldn't do that this time.

I can pick from m&s, John Lewis, Debenhams or Amazon (possibly boots). I was thinking m&s may be my best bet as they have a good range these days?

If so any suggestions for great products? I was thinking maybe a retinol of some sort

I'd go for Boots if possible, Amazon may have these items too. Don't think your money will go far elsewhere.

At Boots, Indeed labs retinol reface is a good starter retinoid. You have to use SPF50 daily with this- not as part of a moisturiser, something French pharmacy is always good. Then Cerave for cleanser (the hydrating one) and the PM facial moisturising lotion. Simple cleansing oil if you like to double cleanse and it just might come in at £50 when there's an offer on the pricier items.

I would pick boots too. More mid range options to choose from.

Thank you. Will take a look at Boots tonight

Def Boots. I’ve bought some incredible skincare stuff from Revolution and E.L.F there recently.

Boots.
I'd get cerave cleanser
Nip & fab exfoliating pads
La Roche Posay serum (in blue dropper bottle)
La Roche Posay cream

& I'd ask the Clarins counter for a sample of Blue Orchid oil to use on an evening after the serum 😁
