Best garment to hold in your stomach?

I've got a couple of dresses that I'd like to wear over Christmas, but can't stand the thought of having to hold my stomach in all the time, particularly after eating!

I've got some "hold you in" knickers, but they show a ridge at the top where they stop.

Can anyone recommend something better please? Are the M&S ones any good?

I like the control slips - smooths all over. Some of them have a lower front so they don't go over your bust (I like these as it reduces my huge boobs a little).
