Short hair ideas for an 8 yr old

My DD has some sensory issues, one of which is a very sensitive scalp. She is also insistent she wants long her (currently just past her shoulders). Trying to brush her hair is more akin to performing an exorcism rather than a lovely mother daughter bonding experience. As a result she never ever brushes her hair unless bribed or coerced into it. So looks like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards
ALL THE TIME. Even the teachers at school have a tangle teaser they try to use now and again, to no avail.

I'm taking her to the hair dressers tomorrow and I'm going to try and get her to have her hair cut a lot shorter (she used to have a short bob which looked far better and was far easier to maintain). So can you hit me with any photos of girls with short hair, or princess type pictures with short hair.

She's also go ADHD which means there is little to no 'mummy says you're cutting it short so there' it has to be an agreement otherwise she'll melt down in the hairdressers

I think if she wants long hair, she should have it - though a good trim sounds sensible and could be sold to her as needing the dead ends cut off. But I'd tell her if she wants it long, it has to be plaited all the time apart from special occasions - this will keep it easier to brush and will achieve long yet tidy which would please you both.
