If you are stylish Crown Grin?

However much I love my oversized beanie...I’m not sure it’s a very ‘current’ look Crown Wink

Last winter’s Colville knitted beanie with chin strap, in the ridiculous bright colour that was half price in the sales.

I look like the pixie all the other pixies would shun in a fairy tale. (Not a great look on a serious middle aged woman ... Xmas Hmm )

Two Christmas puddings

Or
A dead fish hat.
Depends if I’m at work or going home.

My pink woolly hat with fake fur bobble

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/12/2019 19:56

I am currently debuting my musical hat! It’s a black knitted patterned beanie with a bobble and inbuilt speakers. I am stupidly happy with it and may not take it off for quite some time. It’s actually very cold in our office so may keep it on at work too.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/12/2019 19:56

A beret, or a big scarf, in a Dr Zhivago sort of way.

Bargebill19 · 02/12/2019 22:26

It’s a knitted hat that looks like a dead fish - cross eyed with tail and fins. It’s fluorescent orange. Cannot miss it!

poppy2021 · 02/12/2019 22:28

@LilyJade me too. I knitted it myself

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/12/2019 22:52

I have a charcoal grey cashmere beanie hat I bought from Hush a few years ago which lives in my handbag. It is brilliant. Cosy, no hat hair because it doesn’t have a ridged edge, and easy to whip out if need be. It was a lot more than I would usually pay for a hat, even with a discount, but I had a feeling it would be a good investment!

evilharpy · 03/12/2019 09:31

I often wear my hair in a bun or ponytail which rules out hats, so a few years ago I knitted a wide cable pattern headband thing in a lovely mushroom coloured alpaca wool. It gets lots of compliments and is very practical.

MustardScreams · 03/12/2019 09:36

I’m wearing a dark dusky pink/purple beanie I picked up in the sale for the princely sum of £1 in H&M. I don’t care what I wear as long as my head is warm.

Am currently eyeing up a black cashmere beanie, as the majority of my wardrobe is black so will go well. So soft!

NancyJoan · 03/12/2019 09:41

A big, faux fur Russian style hat in pale grey.

NiteFlights · 03/12/2019 09:44

A navy fleece hat bought for £6 for walking, but it’s comfy so I wear it a lot. I’m knitting myself a beanie in green/grey wool, and if it looks good I’m going to get some cashmere yarn and do another one.

CointreauVersial · 03/12/2019 09:47

I look an absolute prat in a hat - wish I could pull off the look.

I have a fringe, which doesn't help. Do I push it out of the way, or leave little tufts poking out above my eyes?

NiteFlights · 04/12/2019 10:12

I leave my fringe poking out. But I’ve got very fine hair that easily gets ‘imprinted’ by hats.

TodoDoingDone · 04/12/2019 17:00

Are there any hats that lessen the chances of hat hair?
I've got thin, flyaway hair and it looks squashed and mad when I take my hat off, and it goes static.
I live somewhere cold so no hat is not an option.

goose1964 · 04/12/2019 17:57

I have a Russian style one, the ladies one with a fabric crown and fake fur sides. No ear flap

oohnicevase · 05/12/2019 09:20

Joules bobble hair I've had for years . I think they are flattering as long as you have hair coming out the bottom .

AliceLittle · 05/12/2019 12:59

Navy wide brim Panama style hat. Good for keeping the low winter sun out of my eyes. Or a slouchy beany.

mysituation · 05/12/2019 13:04

I treated myself to a Sweaty Betty beanie. It's the perfect charcoal grey colour and sits just right on my head. Very warm too.

BubblesBuddy · 05/12/2019 13:07

A real Russian fur hat.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/12/2019 13:42

Nothing, because anything on my head makes me itchy and over-heated ....

kelper · 05/12/2019 13:45

@BubblesBuddy My mum used to have a real russian fur hat, it got lost in a house move which we were all very sad about.

I'm wearing a selection of homemade crocheted hats, depending on if I'm walking or cycling depends whether they have a baggy bit or are tight to my head and ears.
I am not a trendy soul......

BubblesBuddy · 05/12/2019 14:28

The Russians and Nordic countries know how to stay warm!

1forAll74 · 05/12/2019 16:00

I am noticing, that nobody is wearing a head scarf, like the Queen does, when she is out riding, or walking on the moors,up in Balmoral !
