Sloggi Knickers - recommendations please

I have read a few times on here that people rate Sloggi knickers very highly in terms of comfort.

I've always been put off by the expense but it looks like there's a good sale on at the moment so have decided to splash out.

So much choice though! I have worn M&S basic bikini knickers for years but am a bit of a convert to massive granny pants after a c section a couple of years ago and realising how comfy they are!

Not shopping at M&S until they change their ridiculous changing room policy, so am going to try Sloggi instead.

I'm after pants that cover my bum but don't come up to my bellybutton.

I'm looking at Tai, Midi, Shorts or Hipsters. Which ones would you recommend?

I wouldn’t recommend. Unless you can find the microfibre ones, they are very thick and bulky. And colour choice is extremely limited too. Not comfy for me. They felt like wearing a nappy.

They are the best knickers ever - can't imagine what pp is talking about. I would recommend the midis. Where is this good sale you speak of?

I wear Sloggi Tai weekend. I like bikini brief style that cover my (very ample) arse. I have found them to be much better quality than the M&S briefs I used to wear. I tried Sloggi because my last few lots of M&S knickers fell apart very quickly. I also find Sloggi more comfortable.

Thanks for the replies!

They're on sale at www.timarco.com/uk/sloggi

I'm going to order a couple of different styles and hope the sale continues for a while so I can buy more if I like them. The Tais look promising Alpha

They are the best knickers ever - comfy and last for ages. No side seams. I will admit to preferring the full-on granny ones though that come up to the waist. Black, for preference.

Can't think what the pp means about them being thick though - they are fairly thin cotton, I'd have said.

StarlightLady · 02/12/2019 08:32

Each to their own personal style taste, and of course our individual shapes come into it, but they are not for me. I want gossamer thin fabrics, lots of stretch (Sloggi are baggy round my bum) and a big range of colours. I haven’t worn white since l was at school.

Bellyfullofbiscuits · 02/12/2019 08:34

I have worn the shorts style, but I have to say they do not wash well. For the price , they look tatty and scruffy very quickly. They go a funny grey blue colour.

Love the Sloggi Tai, can't think what pp said about them being thick and bulky?! Or feel like a nappy! They feel like a good quality pair of pants, and covers everything but not huge either (depends which style).

CrowleysBentley · 16/12/2019 00:08

I'm a convert to sloggi pants from M&S a couple of years ago. I like the big pants though, the badic cotton ones. They're lovely and stretchy, cover my enormous backside and don't shift about uncomfortably.

I accidentally ordered some of the microfiber ones once and didn't like them at all, shiny swimming cossie type material, that you can't get a pad to stick to without sliding off.

StarlightLady · 16/12/2019 07:25

It was me who found the fabric too thick and likened Sloggis to feeling like a nappy. I just don't want industrial level bum coverage either. I also bemoaned the lack of colour selection; I haven’t worn white since school and I’m not going to join the 50 shades of grey brigade! School was a long time ago and I’m not going to start wearing white again now.

But, hey, these are just my own personal choices. The world would be a pretty boring place if we all looked the same when we were getting our kits off.

I find Sloggi very comfortable but I have found the quality is not good. They last about six months before they start coming apart at the seams. Whereas I have Primark knickers that I have had for years and they are like new.

Sprinklemetinsel · 16/12/2019 14:20

Aldi (or Lidl) do a very good full pant. Better than sloggi, IMO. Often with a lace trim and some bolder colours, too.

LIZS · 16/12/2019 14:23

Tai. However quality has declined imho. I have older versions which have outlasted newer.
