Hair and makeup help!

I’m 55, I grew out my hair dye a few years ago and now have a grey long bob. It’s still quite dark in places but overall the effect is grey. I seem to have lost my makeup mojo a few years ago and when I wear it (not always) I use a bb cream and mascara, very very occasionally eyeshadow (basic).

I’m quite a young 55 in terms of my dress. I’ve always been interested in clothes so try to be quite stylish but I’m now feeling my hair is dragging me down. And I need a bit more definition from makeup, sharpening up basically.

Has anyone got any suggestions for how to go about a bit of a revamp? My style is not glam, I buy clothes in COS, 2nd hand, Arket, H&M.

Go for a chop! A long bob is hard to pull off imo, if you don’t have the right face it just drags you down.
Are you happy being grey? Would you rather have a colour?

Sounds like you dong need to add much to your make up. I would find a nice blusher to give your cheeks a pop, maybe a complimentary highlighter too. A light swish of bronzer always helps too.

Thank you. My hair has got shorter and shorter so I wouldn’t be keen on cutting anymore off it. I try to keep it quite sharp.

I’m not sure about the colour. It took so long to grow out the dye that I wouldn’t be keen on doing it again. But I do worry that the grey is making me look older and more dowdy.

Any tips for eye make up for someone my age?

Why don't you get a nice eyeshadow stick (By Terry Ombre Black star is the best) which you can blend with your finger, cream blush and some gloss.

When I went grey I had to rethink my makeup and the colours I wore. I know only use mascara on my eyes but always wear a bright lipstick. I also need to keep my eyebrows dyed. I can no longer wear pastel colours but can wear bright red, pinks and blues.
