I’m going to stick with silicone free shampoo but I’m ok with using any products. So my question is what products are good for encouraging a wave in hair?

I do semi-CG at the moment. I mostly use a shea moisture shampoo and don't use products containing silicone. But I found full CG also really quick! For products, it depends if you like a crunchy cast or not? If you like one then I'd use cantu custard or Umberto Gianini Curl Jelly. If you prefer no cast, maybe try either just leaving in some conditioner or cantu curl activator - you just need a little and best to mix with water before applying or Eco Curl 'N Styling Cocktail (easiest to buy online).

I get mine dyed and my hairdresser uses baby shampoo to wash it out. It’s never been a problem.

I agree some of the Facebook groups are a bit ott, I’ve seen people going absolutely crazy with each other about what’s within the rules and what’s not.
