Yet again I have made a purchase (and subsequently tried a dummy order to prove to myself I'm not an idiot) on the back of a 30% Black Friday discount code and yet again there was no option to enter the code. I have contacted the retailer but received a generic response saying "tough". I have contacted the retailer again but, given the time of year, I'm not expecting a reply any time soon.

Ironically the add code box always seems to be there when I don't have a code!

It's only about £14 in this case but it's left a sour taste. Anyone else have this?

I used a site today where there was no code box on the mobile app but was there on the desktop site. Could this be it?

Also, they can be in different places, sometimes on the edit basket page, sometimes at checkout. Often easy to miss if it's on the basket page and you have no need to edit the items in your basket so click straight through to checkout.

Can you cancel the order of its not dispatched and do a fresh one? It is so annoying isn't it? I often abandon purchases as I get to the enter payment stage and not had code box come up.

You could place a 2nd order and get them to cancel the 1st order in the meantime, worst case scenario you may need to return the 1st order and wait for a refund. Depends if the £14 saving is worth the faff

It isn't really, it was the "principle of the thing". Also delivery will be tight as it is and I'd really like the item for this Friday.

Ah well, I'll try the desktop next time.

You did the right thing contacting the retailer, hopefully they refund the difference!

The items have arrived and I'll let them off the discount thing as they arrived in an eminently recyclable brown paper envelope. Well played Mango (eventually).

Erm..you said you used the mobile app yes? The discount code box is on the next page after clicking checkout (for future ref ;) )
