What tights with bottle green dress?

I've got a dress with lace at the bottom and need tights to go with it. Nude ones looked a bit frumpy last time. What else could I try? Think black is too heavy
Tried to post a pic but it's not working 🙄

How short? What type of event? How do you feel about your legs?
Could a good dose of fake tan and bare legs work? Or tanned legs with a sheer tight might look better?

onlyconnect · 30/11/2019 09:11

Could you wear bottle green tights? I had this dilemma a year ago and settled on bottle green.

Settlersofcatan · 30/11/2019 09:13

Grey?

CharitySchmarity · 30/11/2019 09:44

Black but thin, or fishnets if you like that sort of thing. If you can get a version of "nearly black" that is brownish rather than greyish that might work too.

Villagegreenpreservation · 30/11/2019 09:58

Works parry. Not too fancy. Men will be in shirts and jeans but I like to pop on afrock

Dress is knee length but with lace to mid calf maybe. Like the idea of fishnets - would black not be too dark even in a thin denier?
I'll be fake tanning too so can see how that turns out - maybe bare is just about possible but I'd feel safer in tights. Not sure green ones would work for this dress but I've asked for some snag ones for other dresses for Christmas!

What denier where the black pair you tried? I might try 30 with that dress.

Lucked · 30/11/2019 10:11

Oh yes micronets would work.

dudsville · 30/11/2019 10:13

I think the fishnet suggestion was a good one, they come in different colours.

HappydaysArehere · 30/11/2019 10:16

Navy!

Tonii1985 · 30/11/2019 10:18

Deffo bare legs - bit of fake tan if needed

Villagegreenpreservation · 30/11/2019 10:36

Where can I get micro fishnets would you think? TK maxx?

Previously wore 15 denier nude.

Purple tights will make that dress pop & give it the right balance of dressy casual.

Villagegreenpreservation · 30/11/2019 11:10

Purple plaques?

I wore a bottle green pencil dress to a wedding last winter and wore brown fishnets. They looked really good.

lilgreen · 30/11/2019 13:00

Think I got them in House of Fraser.

StarlightLady · 30/11/2019 13:37

I think either fine nude or slighly thicker (no more than 40 denier) navy.

QuimReaper · 01/12/2019 01:10

Bottle green and navy?!

Evilmorty · 01/12/2019 01:16

Burgundy

RainbowMum11 · 01/12/2019 01:30

Nude fishnets - gives a bit of texture & 'cover' but dead flattering on your legs x

Casmama · 01/12/2019 01:36

totally agree with ThePortis - purple opaques are the way to go.

StarlightLady · 01/12/2019 08:22

@QuimReaper - l have a green and navy dress that wasn’t cheap and demonstrates how well they go together.

MillyMollie · 01/12/2019 08:35

Navy or black 60 denier opaques.
Unless you like funky Smile
Which means purple/ mustard/ fuschia etc.

Actually fuschia would be great.
But withwhat shoes or boots ??
