Hi everyone! Looking for some advice on boots.

Last few times we have had „date night“ (usually a restaurant in a market town or small city) I have struggled to decide what to wear. I have a few dresses (knee length or shorter) that I think might have worked but at the moment I have no suitable footwear and it is too cold for my one pair of going out shoes... black biker boots with opaques worked ok but sometimes you want to look a bit more dressed up...

I am thinking maybe a nice boot with a low heel would be worth buying... but what? I have an image of something suede or — not shiny — leather or even fabric (like a kind of very heavy Ponte, water resistant...was that just a nineties thing?) quite slim around the calf? Want to look stylish but not too dressed up . Can’t do stiletto type heels but also don’t want too blocky a heel.

Any recommendations? Thanks so much.

PS I think black? the two possible coats I’d wear with them are black and blue, wool, quite formal looking.

These might have too much of a block heel but I have these [[https://www.kurtgeiger.com/women/shoes/boots/ankle/jemima-black-suedette-miss-kg-7928400799 miss kg] boots and I have worn them loads. My ankles are not as slim as the models so they are not baggy. They are pretty non descriptive and not fashion forward but seem to go with most dresses for dinner or drink type scenarios. Also supremely comfortable.

What about these, I have a couple of pairs of pikolino boots and they are amazingly comfy.
