I’m thinking of getting my ‘colours’ done.

Can anyone recommend anyone in Chester/North Wales?

Or is it a complete waste of money?Wink

Best money you will ever spend. HoC are great 👍. You can then join our FB groups to share colour &style stuff.

I've never heard anything so batshit. Surely you just wear whatever colour you fancy?!

I've been thinking about this too. Would be interested to hear from people who've had it done regarding whether it's worth it - seems quite pricey.

I had it done recently with HoC. It was useful as I no longer suit black as I get older. When they draped the coloured cloths on me, I could see that I did indeed look much better in some colours and they mostly would not have been colours I would choose. It has made me consider colours that are new to me but I have disregarded half of the suggested colours (I think you get about 30) as I really don’t like them. Most of my friends had it done 20 years ago and interestingly most of them can’t remember what ‘season’ they are and don’t pay any attention to it. I was fascinated by that as it’s expensive, but made no lasting impact on them. Maybe it’s most successful if you’re someone who likes to follow rules. Personally I thought it was worthwhile for me... I’m not going to wear all the colours suggested but I will avoid the ones that I now can see look bad on me. You don’t have to follow it to the letter, obviously. I also enjoyed the experience as time for me. I got less from the style session (different product) as was already comfortable with what suits me.

I had mine done with House of Colour and I'm (very) slowly switching my wardrobe over. I've got rid of most of my black clothes now and while I knew I suited some certain colours, the day with HOC gave me a whole new load of colours that I'd never have considered previously.

Pretty sure I paid £99 and went to a woman in Bury/Bolton but it was about 5 years ago now.

I did mine with HoC and it was great. I actually guessed most of my colours as they were the ones I naturally like anyway. It's made shopping a lot easier and quicker because I won't buy things just for the sake of it now if they're a bad colour for me.

I wasn't so much of a fan of the makeup colours for me, I don't think I'll ever wear pink lipstick but it was still good! I'm a jewel winter.

My friend who I went with is an autumn leaf, she would never normally go for her colours but you could definitely see that they looked really nice on her and quite expensive, where if I wore them I would look washed out and faded and cheap.

I loved her makeup a lot more than mine too!
