Help with Allsaints jacket please

I bought the Bales in the Black Friday sale and I'm having difficulty deciding if I've chosen the right size. I bought it in size eight and it does up easily but snugly. The leather is lovely but I've heard that it stretches out quite quickly. Any advice would be appreciated! Apologies for the sticky child smudges on the mirror Blush

I think that's the right size for you - I think they stretch a bit. I recently got one as a present - a friend did the research and got a size down from my usual size as she said they normally stretch a fair bit. I'm normally a 10 -12 (12 in AllSaints usual sizing) and my size 8 cargo jacket feels a good fit.

It's lovely by the way

Ellapaella thank you! Good to know It'll stretch a bit. I shall take the label off and stop worrying then.

I’m slightly the opposite in that I’m a 8-10 and I went up to 12 with the bales as I do like to wear it done up a lot so I didn’t want it to be uncomfortably tight. Depends on how much you’ll wear it done up a bit I guess.

It’s a lovely jacket though, had mine 2 years and still love it!

Oh dear now I’m having anxiety about the size I ordered online this morning. Confused

R0ca75 · 27/11/2019 17:24

BusterTheBulldog that's the thing about the Bales isn't it? It has such a unique neckline that it would be a shame to never wear it done up. I could only wear this one done up over tshirts, not jumpers!

I think it depends on how you want it to look. Some like a slightly oversized look but I prefer mine to be more neat as I have quite narrow shoulders and biker jackets have a tendency to look too bulky over the shoulder area unless I size down. What size did you go for @Countmeout?

Ellapaella · 27/11/2019 17:26

It does look lovely done up @R0ca75.

R0ca75 · 27/11/2019 17:33

I think I will keep it as I have a slightly larger leather jacket for cold jumper days and I love it so much that I don't want to have to pack it back up and order another size - I want to wear it now! Did you size down @Countmeout?

It's too personal I don't think you can have a right or wrong tbh. I bought a 12 (Ann 8-10) as I don't like snug fitted clothing but that's just a look. Yours looks nice, I wouldn't wince and think 'too small'

Countmeout · 27/11/2019 18:22

@Ellapaella and @R0ca75 I ordered a 10 but in the Dalby . I would be a good 12 but had read so many posts with people saying size down in All Saints jackets. I don’t want to do it up but would like it to look as if I maybe could. I previously bought a Ted Baker one on eBay in a similar style (which is lovely) but I couldn’t do it up and I’m a few pounds heavier now. I’m consoled by free delivery and free returns but really hope it fits.

R0ca75 · 27/11/2019 19:13

@Countmeout I am a 10 and ordered an 8 because I heard the same thing. Good luck! Hope you love your Dalby and it fits perfectly

@R0ca75 Thank you. I do think yours is a good fit. I hope mine looks as nice on me as yours does on you. Enjoy it.

notthemum · 27/11/2019 19:31

Don't re-order. It looks great on you.

It looks fab OP. I sized down with mine too and a few months in it fits perfectly.
