Side shave for thin hair

girlfromthemoon · 26/11/2019 19:16

Ok, I'm 33 I've always wanted a side shave but I have quite think hair, thin enough that i don't think I could part my hair to hide it if I hate it

I only want a little section at the side, I have black hair and would like it cutting in a long bob and possibly have a little design shaved in

What is peoples opinions? I think it looks really pretty but I've only seen it on skinny young edgy people! Although I might have a slight edgyness to be in defo not thin or young 😂

Ps it wouldn't affect my job at all so that's not an issue

Any advice for anyone hairdressers, side shavers, anyone would be much appreciated!

I suppose what I'm curious about is, presumable side shaves don't suit everyone so, what do you think the criteria is for it to suit someone?

Do it. It's only hair and it will grow back just don't ask how long! I know that the moment my undercut eventually grows back I'll end up shaving it again. I loved it!

@AliceLittle can I ask what sort of hair you have? I really want to do it but literally everyone I know has said don't do it, so I can't help thinking they think I will look a tit with one!

Thin and very fine. With the side shaved and the lengths push over to the one side like a deep side parting/fringe, it gives the illusion of volume which my hair lacks.
