What do you think of this dress:

www.next.co.uk/style/st410594?itm=921903#921903

I wanted something to wear to a few Xmas do's I have coming up.

I've put on weight recently and not feeling great about myself generally, so wanted something plain-ish and not too fussy.

Figured I could wear it with ankle boots for more dressy occasions and trainers for work maybe?

Thoughts?

I really like it.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 26/11/2019 12:50

I'd like it for daytime wear with tights and boots, maybe a scarf and leather jacket, but I'm not keen on it for Christmas events as it's a bit too plain and dull coloured.

Would you not go for something a bit dressier? Black dresses can be lovely and classy, also slimming.

crochetmonkey74 · 26/11/2019 12:53

I really like it- especially with bright accessories (sparkly)
And agree it's a good day dress too

nocluewhattodoo · 26/11/2019 12:55

I love it, very versatile

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2019 15:47

Thanks all.

So I ordered it.. nice or frumpy?

You look gorgeous, it's hangs lovely & is very flattering.
Just needs blinging up for night time.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/11/2019 16:02

oh I really like it on you, I was going to say it might be skimpy in the length the photos look like the model is trying to lean to make it look longer

I'd go sparkly gold accessories for evening, it'll bling up lovely! Or super sheer tights and high high black shoes...maybe patent and bag to match!

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2019 16:06

Thank you!

It is quite plain but I like the idea of jazzing it up for a night out. I'm nowhere near as tall as the model so like the length on me.

It'll do for work too..hurrah..a keeper!

It looks awful on the model but you wear it very well actually. I'd bling it up too and maybe sheer tights, as it is leaning 'office wear' to me, but we're all different and you do really suit it.

Twatwaffles · 26/11/2019 16:25

Looks better on you than on the model 👍🏽

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2019 17:12

Thank you.. do you think sparkly tights or leggings would work with it? 🤔

It looks amazing on you, even better than the model. As a PP said I would go with shear tights.

I really want to get this dress now!

Rosere · 26/11/2019 19:02

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2019 19:19

All good thanks - miss you on the Hush thread. sorry you're not feeling so good about yourself but I have to say you are looking as lovely as ever! The dress is a great find.

shinynewapple · 26/11/2019 21:15

I really like it and it looks good on you.

I can't tell from your picture how high up the neck comes? Asking as I like the black print version but can't wear high necks. Thanks

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2019 21:32

@shinynewapple the neckline isn't low which is nice. It has a tie front. I'd say it come about 1.5 inches below neckline.
