Help me find a black tie dress?!

I’ve ordered and returned about ten dresses and I’m sick of looking!

It’s a black tie Christmas do. I’m 5”8, fairly rectangular so a festive wrap dress that gives me some shape would be grand. Budget around £100 but the cheaper the better (Christmas ain’t cheap!). All help very gratefully received.

A cocktail dress is fine for black tie .

Principles at Debenhams had some lovely velour dresses.

AnneKipanki · 25/11/2019 21:21

They also have a long sleeve version in green .

Quiz. I just got a velour wrap dress, floor length from them in Debenhams. They had emerald green and a black version. Very flattering over the tum area! Fifty quid. I'll see if I can link it.

So I can only find the curve version (I bought a size 12 - I'm 5ft7 and it's a good length) and I've been swizzed on the price but never mind!

BigFatBloomers · 25/11/2019 22:05

The Op on this thread had ordered some nice ones. Not sure of price

Ahh thanks all, love the green one @BobbinThreadbare123, I might try that! I've tried cocktail dresses but I think they make me look a bit like a child dressing up... midi or full-length tends to suit me much better. I'm a 10, forget to include that.

And thanks @BigFatBloomers, I hadn't looked on SilkFred so I'll definitely check them out.

Sorry, massive link above! But I bought this recently and it's even nicer in real life. It give lots of curves.

AnneKipanki · 26/11/2019 13:03

Ooh ! I like that Drink .

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 26/11/2019 14:11

Both lovely and quite festive! I definitely need something that gives a bit of shape, although I don't love having my shoulders out (I get cold really easily!).

Ooh JJ that's fab! I wish I'd seen that when I was shopping. They shut our Monsoon in town and I never think to look on their website.

Rosere · 26/11/2019 19:05

I saw that Monsoon one in store. Its absolutely stunning!! I've no requirement for it otherwise I'd have tried it!
