Yay or nay?

I wore these as a student in the 90s and have been hankering after a pair for a few years now. But is it just nostalgia??

I see lots of women wearing them sockless with rolled up jeans. I think they look great.

I can't wear them because my feet the shoes are a funny shape.

Saw some lovely mustardy/yellowy ones last week.

I love them. Can’t wear them though as find them too narrow. I like the minty green ones.

FannyFifer · 24/11/2019 20:58

Love my gazelles. Have a few pairs.

DD loves Hera

*hers!

Thewalker75 · 24/11/2019 21:14

No worse than converse and surely that's a mum staple?

QueenWhatevs · 24/11/2019 21:15

I have a burgundy pair that goes with everything. Love them.

Anoisagusaris · 24/11/2019 21:20

I hate Converse. Are Gazelles as flat as them? Can’t remember.

No def not as flat as converse

notthenormal · 24/11/2019 21:25

Please say yeah, have blue and pink k versions that work for me

QueenWhatevs · 24/11/2019 21:40

I don't get on with converse either, I also find them too flat. My gazelles are sooo comfy and I have an arthritic ankle and a long walk to school and nursery.

izzybobsmum · 24/11/2019 22:57

Father Christmas is bringing me a dark grey pair, I can't wait! They are more supportive than my Converse.

PantyGiraffe · 25/11/2019 11:43

I had a navy pair recently and I got rid of them. They made my size 3 feet look like boats. I love how they look on other people though.

cloudybuns · 25/11/2019 12:14

They are so much more supportive and nicer than Converse. I have a few pairs - my favourite are black with gum soles. I wear them with jeans and they look great (IMO Grin)

dontgobaconmyheart · 25/11/2019 12:23

I'm not a fan (also hate converse). Just don't find them that comfortable and I don't think any of the outfit combos they work with (which seem to be either a midi skirt or rolled up boyfriend jeans) really work in cold weather either.

I do have some Stan Smith's which I find comfy - these - www.schuh.co.uk/womens/adidas-stan-smith-white-and-gold-trainers/1921801920/ - but I don't end up reaching for them much for the reasons above.

PantyGiraffe · 25/11/2019 12:35

Agree re rolled up jeans being best with them- same with Stan smiths. Useless in freezing weather.
