Help with finding a sports bra in a size 30e/28f

My DD has really sensitive skin and ends up with very sore skin if she wears regular bras. She gets on best with the style of bras with the wide elastic band underneath like this picture but the problem with the pink one is the 32 band is too big for her and they don’t go any smaller in the dd/ddd cups. Shes tried the small dd but again the band is too big and they don’t do xs dd.

Can anyone suggest anywhere else that does this style of bra, preferably sports bras but in the smaller band of either a 30/28.

Just get a 32 D. She'll be fine.

nameychange · 23/11/2019 20:11

The 32 is too big. The back rides up, this is what she’s got at the moment. The back back needs to be smaller.

I got a nice halter neck bra in bravissimo last year, not wired. Really pretty. I was 28e/f when younger / slimmer and found bravissimo was the place to go.

I'm the same size as your DD OP. I've found Panache sports bras the best for actual exercise but they're not particularly attractive for everyday wear. They're probably more support and coverage than your DD needs.

If it's non-wired that she's after, I really recommend Lepel non-wired t-shirt bras which come in 30E. I think the style is called Lyra or Lyla or something. It's v good.

She could also try bralets? The M&S Louisa lace bralet is surprisingly supportive in the DD+ style. The 8DD+ one fits me.

John Lewis does non-wired T-shirt bras in 30" back sizes but I haven't tried them.

Oh and M&S does non-wired t-shirt bras but I think most of them start at 32" back but some of them are ok for me and some of them also have multiway straps so your DD could wear them with crossover straps at the back if that's what she prefers.

Thanks, I’ll have a look at those.

If someone measures 28 or 30 then a 32 will be huge and won’t provide any support around the band @TartanMarbled

GruffalOH · 23/11/2019 21:22

Bravissimo for a 28 back. It's one of the only places I've found. I like to be able to try on in store rather than order loads and send back etc., and Bravissimo is the only decent place I've really found that goes that small.

Rosehip345 · 23/11/2019 21:23

Bravissimo, only place that really work for small backs/big boobs

nameychange · 23/11/2019 21:29

She measures 28 but her skin is so sensitive that she has to have the band a looser. The wide elastic has been the best so far but the pink ones we’ve had only lasted a couple of washes before even on the tightest setting they ride up.

She has a medical condition which means her skin over reacts to stimuli. Which is what the thinner under bra elastic seems to do.

This is what her skin does

Bravissimo are definitely my go to. ASOS also do some fuller bust bralettes starting at a 30 back.

nameychange · 24/11/2019 07:40

Thanks - I’ll show her the bralettes on bravissimo.

Had forgotten about ASOS doing fuller bust items too. Off to have a look.

John Lewis do a lovely range of non wired bras. 30 back up to f cup.
Super comfortable

Housewife2010 · 24/11/2019 22:51

My daughter has the nude Panache in 30E and really likes it.

nameychange · 25/11/2019 17:46

Thanks for both of those suggestions. I’ll have a look and show her

I'm a 30Ff and got a great one in bravissimo. M & S don't go that small.

IlonaRN · 26/11/2019 08:29

I have Royce sports bras in 30E that have a wide elastic at the bottom.

jcurve · 26/11/2019 12:22

Shock Absorber do size 30A and upwards. They are TINY around the back so I actually wear a 32C despite being a 28E. I wear the Ultimate Run which has a band around the bottom.

I feel very sorry for your daughter though - I have dermographic skin which gets little welts which obviously isn’t as severe but still very annoying.

nameychange · 26/11/2019 19:27

I’ve not seen Royce ones so off to have a look.

I’ve ordered her a Freya one which has underwire so waiting to see if that rubs.

It’s just a shame she inherited my large bust. She’s only a size 6 too and does 8-10 hours of competitive sport a week so needs a good sports bra.
