Taking in suede pull on boots?

I've lost weight and a pull on pair of knee high suede boots are slipping down - the material is very fine, has anyone had success with taking them in themselves? I'm contemplating it.

Or is a professional required?

Oh god, I wouldn't even know where to begin tbh! I have a pair of old leather boots which are loose on me now, even though I've actually got fatter! I think they do just lose their shape a bit and look slouchy, after a few years of heavy wear in my case.

Oh that's awkward Officer - I guess if they're favourites you could take them to a bootmakers

I have a pair where one of them always slips down and have contemplated sewing a piece of elastic in at the top. But I’ve been contemplating it for about three years now so it’s probably never going to happen tbh.
