Where are the going out jackets?

I have been from one end of The Trafford Centre, Fromm £300 jackets to £30 ones, and there is, frustratingly, nothing for me.
I'm shortish, with a short body and chubby arms. The only thing like is a furry jacket in White Company. Even tho the small fits, I look like The Honey Monster.
I just want a little, smart/casual shiny flattering jacket that I can wear on the way to a Christmas event, and possibly while I'm there. It doesn't exist. Why don't they sell them?

What are you wearing to the event? Dress?

Zara have bomber jackets

I'm wearing trousers and heeled boots. Can't wear a dress sadly, as I have cankles.
I like this from Fenn, Wright and Manson, bit it's 280 and a bit bulky.

I think that wardrobe gap is being filled with either a leather jacket or a thicker blazer - or woman are just putting a coat over the top.

The casual shorter, thinner coat doesn't seem to be a thing this year.

I'd go for a biker with that budget.

Was about to say similar- lovely coats around this year. Short jackets seem out of favour. A coat will create a sleeker line OP.
Apart from that, a thin, biker jacket from Massimo Dutti perhaps? You'd have to love jacket though as it will be ££.

I love that one that you've posted a picture of - there might be similar ones around that don't feel as bulky? I've seen the same faux fur style without the collar, google 'faux fur bomber jacket' and see what you think.
Otherwise I agree a biker jacket is a good option.

There are velvet jackets everywhere! I would get one of these. M&S has them and so do other shops. They are definitely in fashion.

There are lots of short fake fur jackets around - both short and long actually. They look very glam but can be dressed up or down.
