Where to shop please?

Please can I have a list of clothing shops with single sex changing rooms?

I'm a small woman and have experienced sexual abuse as a child and as an woman (adult human female) from men.

I know M&S and John Lewis no longer wish for my custom.

I will try Debenhams but have loved having the MAC and Bobbie Brown makeup sessions - booked online - which are not available at Debenhams.

Will visit Whiteley this weekend and Southampton a couple of times next month.

Thank you

So, here's a Barbour hat I really want to buy but I can only find in John Lewis, please can you help me find another lined hat like this?

A couple of years ago I had a very successful personal shopper experience at John Lewis and have been following her advice since.

Really need a hat - my dog chewed up my hat.

Where to shop please?

Do you do much online shopping? Some companies make returns so easy (Zara, Asos...). I find changing rooms stressful enough without having had your experiences.

Tempertamtrum · 21/11/2019 10:53

Thank you Miseryisabutterfly, yes I do, but I want to try on in shops.

If a shop won't provide single sex changing rooms, I won't give them my money.

Also had a silly time with La Redoute returns, so prefer shops or ebay.

Next in Hedge End? The men's department is upstairs so it is only ever women in the women's department changing rooms.

BikeRunSki · 21/11/2019 17:57

Is this the hat you are after @TemperTamtrum?

stringbean · 21/11/2019 18:25

To my knowledge, John Lewis in Southampton has separate fitting rooms for men in the men's department. I've never seen a man in the women's changing room - although have seen a number of rather glum men sitting outside waiting for their partners.Alternatively, would you be able to try on clothes in the lingerie changing room?

Tempertamtrum · 22/11/2019 06:05

Good Morning, thank you Stringbean and Oranges, I'm afraid Next and John Lewis have the same policy as M&S in that any man, however they present, are allowed to try on women's underwear in the womens underwear changing rooms.

I won't use those shops, I will only use shops that provide single sex changing rooms.

Thank you runbikeski, that's the hat but I like the bright green colours on the womens - most shops are selling murky or pink hats - looking for bright blue or green, warm lined bobble hat please .

how about this hat?

This website is the manufacturer’s, they don’t have their own shops other than the website.

PurpleFrames · 22/11/2019 06:37

I really would recommend trying online shops such as Asos. The return postage is free, I've never had one issue in 10years or so and I have a lot of returns to do (too short, wide, lack of chest!) plus very reasonable pricing.

No I don't work for them but feel your pain re the changing rooms

Tempertamtrum · 22/11/2019 06:40

Thank you runbikeski, bought it! out for a quick run myself as soon as it's light. How did you find that so quick, it's perfect?

@Temperatamtrum

I love a good woolly hat, and also dislike pink!! I knew there must be a hat for you out there, but figured you’d probably “done” the mainstream shops, so I hit the hippy websites on your behalf.😊

I hope it fits!
