I will offer lots of virtual Gin and Wine and Cake for help, because I'm panicking a bit!

Fortunately I have the dress/tights/shoes, but was going to spend this weekend working out what to do with my hair/makeup/nails but now won't have time. Sad

I have a horrifically busy morning, but can leave a bit early to shower and sort myself out. If you could give me any tips I'd be very grateful!

My hair could be washed, or left unwashed to be put up. It's about an inch above my bra strap and brown/red.

This is the dress. I don't often dress up that much, so wanted to look really nice for once! It's a dinner and ceilidh, and the dress code was black tie/cocktail dress if that helps.

Thank you!

Although that model must be a lot taller than me, because it's more like mid-calf on me. More like this (although I'm not quite as thin!).

If it’s a ceilidh you want comfy shoes that you can move in

How would you feel most comfortable styling your hair? If you're dancing would you prefer it up and out of the way? I agree you need shoes you can move in - what did you have in mind?

Hair up, definitely. You don't want it swinigng around. Needs to be up securely for dancing though. I'd do a French twist with some bits left out around the front and curl those.

Nails/makeup - since it's a black and white dress and you probably have black or white shoes and bag, what about a deep green nail polish and eyeshadow to add a little splash of colour? Green goes nicely with red hair.

I was going to go in high black court shoes, then I have flat black pumps with a strap across the foot to change into for dancing.

I think hair up is the way to go, I'll try a French Twist or a nape of neck bun if I struggle. I will definitely curl a few bits around the front, I like that idea littleorangecat. My hair is quite sleek, so I occasionally look like I've just run away from the ballet...

I have green eye makeup, but no nail varnish, I'll see if the chemist has any on my way home. I did think red, and red lipstick originally, but wasn't sure.
