So I have just had the Spanx ones delivered , mmm not 💯 sure ? I'm 5.10 and length is good , I got a large , went on ok but tend to roll down when I sit but don't feel too small , also I thought they would be thicker and not sure about the leather effect more shiny Lycra ??
Thinking I might have liked the moto ones better now ! Can't decide to keep or not ? Anyone else find they roll down or maybe it's because I'm tall and would be better if higher ?

I’ve the Moto and no rolling down issues. I’m 5’8 and size 12 so have in the M. I love mine. Ordered the plain wine ones but didn’t like those. Prefer the moto.

SyntheticPumpkin · 20/11/2019 10:33

I wouldn’t have guessed they were meant to be faux leather - they just look shiny

Bootsuit · 20/11/2019 10:36

I agree that they look more like shiny leggings rather than leather. You do suit them though!

Myshitisreal · 20/11/2019 10:45

Hmmm they're not what I expected but you really suit them. Fantastic legs/figure op 👍

itsaldramarama · 20/11/2019 11:06

Thanks , I think il just keep but the search continues !! Found another type so will do a new post

There's been a few threads featuring Spanx faux leather legging reviews and there seems to be a huge disparity in sizing preferences. I'm an 8-10 and find the medium better than the small, even though on paper, and for lots of other people my size, I should really be a small. No rolling down issue though although that seems to be a common complaint; is that because they are too small for some?

Looks wise, while they don't compare to my real leather leggings, they could pass for a dull leather. I think it's more about what kind of leather finish you want to replicate. From your other thread, you seem to want a shinier leather look? Personally, I think those Sosander ones look cheap, they don't fit the model very well, and H&M do that stye and leather look finish for £24.99.

Ellapaella · 20/11/2019 12:37

Faux leather leggings do tend to be quite shiny. If you don't really want the shiny look you might prefer coated jeans? I think coated jeans look more like leather than the faux pleather does.

itsaldramarama · 20/11/2019 13:05

I've worn them all morning and they are comfortable but just don't like the finish as I don't think they look like leather , feel like I'm going to the gym !! Can't justify 90£ so they are packed up :( might try the moto as I like the detailing and may possibly have a more leather effect , not sure of the sosander ones now as yes they do look quite cheap .. some one mentioned m and co so might pop in later ... or give up and stick to my Levi's !

I’ve had better looking leather effect ones from Primark a couple of years ago for pennies in comparison. They don’t look like leather at all.

Lndnmummy · 20/11/2019 17:28

Hey, I bought these too last week and was really disappointed. Both with the shine and the rolling issue. I have a £19.50 answer. m&s high wasted coated jeans. I kid you not. They are amazing. Bought them after a recommendation on BBB blog. I haven’t taken them off since I got them.
Your welcome Wink

NuffingChora · 20/11/2019 17:33

I have both the Moto and the smooth and the Moto ones are better, they don’t seem to roll down nearly so much. I also think they look more ‘expensive’ and more like leather. They are very comfortable. The smooth ones are also comfortable but do tend to roll down much more, no idea why.

Ohffs66 · 20/11/2019 17:41

I have the moto ones and really like them. Weirdly compared to what someone said above, I'm a 12 but sized down to a small based on advice from the site I got them from. I'm quite short though and the length is good on me, I would have thought they'd be too short on anyone much taller

itsaldramarama · 20/11/2019 17:49

Thanks, will check out the M and S ones and maybe order the moto ones or the quilted ones to try

I am about your size and I bought the medium Spanx in black as a 12/14 I find them firm/snug they don't roll . Very comfortable.

thewigglewalk · 20/11/2019 21:03

I just got these, have worn them twice this week already and love them!!

I was also debating getting the Spanx ones but so glad I went for the cheaper option with these. They are great at shaping my legs and bum and are super comfortable.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 20/11/2019 21:51

The Calzedonia ones are great, I really couldn't tell any difference to the Spanx. I prefer the slightly thicker thermal ones though, here uk.calzedonia.com/product/total-shaper-thermal-leather-effect-leggings/175706.uts?keyword=thermal shaper legging. I have the black and the dark green pair and have had no problem with them rolling down. They've washed really well too. I'm a 10-12 and got the small.

BennyTheBall · 20/11/2019 22:02

I have the M&S ones - they're fab. But be warned, they are huge.

I am most definitely a 12, but had to change them for a 10.

Ostagazuzulum · 20/11/2019 22:04

I've tried Spanx ones (taking them back to shop this week) and I found they were really thin, didn't look much like leather and just not worth price. I tried a couple of sizes and Top kept rolling down. I was really disappointed. Someone suggested mint velvet ones to me. £25 and they're brilliant!

Itsjustmee · 21/11/2019 09:22

I have pretty much every pair of the Spanx leggings in faux leather and in the jean style as well The only ones I don’t have is the Moto ones
I love them as they fit me perfectly and do not bag or ripple at all and I def look at least a dress size smaller in them and very streamlined

I put a tiny bit of baby oil on mine to make them shiny
Although I don’t particularly like the shiny type ones in any make
The croc ones have a pebbly effect and look more leather without the shine
The navy and the bronze ones though are quite shiny

itsaldramarama · 21/11/2019 12:19

Thanks for all the suggestions, will definitely try some of them

I bought spanx leather leggings in two different sizes recently. Wasn't much difference in sizing (couldn't tell difference that they weren't same size) but they felt quite cheap and didn't look like leather at all to me. They def didn't have the spanx effect. I've bought the mint velvet ones since and they're really good
