is it just me or does anyone else have a real dilema when chosing clothes. Some shops are a definate no no .... too young, others ok with a mix of styles, but I just don't feel i'm ready to go down the crimplene suit route yet.....???

I have a few creases!
Although I would not care to admit where they were!!!

Fimbo · 20/08/2007 16:35

I will be 40 in January and today I am wearing:-

Primark socks
Next Jeans
M & S belt
Blue/White M & S Limited Collection two layer top thing

OhNo40 · 20/08/2007 16:40

LL - do Hobbs have a website. Here in the sticks they don't appear on the high street.

Tups · 20/08/2007 16:40

time to be sensible now I think

My work gear:

next trousers
la redoute vest top
la redoute pink stripey blouse
matching m&s or is it next (??) underwear and yes, it's matching - yippee!
m&s socks (which are my other half's but he has titchy feet so they nearly fit me!)
ptrick cox shoes (black croc) but not indoors as do not wear shoes in the house

that's it as am just about to go and get changed into my home clothes as not going out again now!!

Fimbo · 20/08/2007 16:41

Also buy from Whitestuff, Fatface, Jack Wills etc.

OhNo40 · 20/08/2007 16:42

I either need to move or to start surfing the web more - I haven't heard of half of these shops.

littleboo · 20/08/2007 16:43

only joking about the crimplene suit, but it is really difficult .I think i'm a young 40, but some shops like topshop/riverisland do sometimes have some nice stuff but if you dare venture in they look at you like you've just come from another planet, other places I feel like i'm a granny.
just wondered if it was just me being paranoid..... or , well obviously not
Didn't mean to offend with the "older mners"..... just feeling that way, summer hols and all that.
Started the hols brunette..... now going a lovely shade of grey!!

neither have I!
I was going to put it down to being "old" but I think that is a lame excuse as we are all pretty much the same age!!!

noddyholder · 20/08/2007 16:45

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/08/2007 16:55

I am shortly to turn 48.

I hate shopping which is why I rarely venture on to the Style threads!

Today I'm wearing:

White 3/4 length sleeve t-shirt from Talbot
Per Una jeans
underwear from M&S/Tesco
shoes from Sainsbury (fake Converses)

I buy a lot of stuff in a big trawl occasionally from M&S - sizes generally fit me, sometimes Next (but very, very boring at the moment), occasionally Monsoon. I buy quite a lot of Tu stuff at Sainsbury - had some lovely shorts, smock tops and t-shirts from there before my holiday.

Please tell me I don't have to start wearing crimplene ...

next autumn gear is vile (some of it anyway!), the kids rage (girls) is also not that nice (sorry if offending anyone) just not the best season I've seen.
Maybe cos I'm boring but our daughter is a redhead and really can't wear some of this seasons colours.
rant over ... ahem

littleboo · 20/08/2007 16:57

becauseimworthit - not sure about the age limit for crimpelene,......have you got one of those plastic rain caps???

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 20/08/2007 16:58

What a good idea! Then it will stop my blue rinse getting wet.

littleboo · 20/08/2007 16:59

Tups · 20/08/2007 16:59

littleboo · 20/08/2007 17:02
