Help me style this black velvet dress

I’m 5’3” size 8 and I have this dress in black.

I need shoes for a party! Don’t want to go bare legged and would prefer not to wear boots - help please!

I'd wear metallic courts with it. Debenhams have loads with different heel heights.

Good idea - opaque or sheer tights?
