What to wear with sparkly/sequin skirt?

I was thinking a nice, simple short sleeved black top and smart black coat.

I know black opaque tights and boots are nice but my legs are my best asset and bare legs a no in winter!

I know some think sheer tights are awful but can't you get barely there ones? How would they look with a sparkly skirt and nice plain heels?!

It's for a Christmas night out

I have a gold sequinned skirt - midi length, tube/pencil style. I wear it with either a black crew-neck jumper, black velvet sweatshirt, or black polo-neck jumper, black opaque tights, and either black Stan Smiths or DM church boots.

I am not a very dressy person though.

I'm not dressy either and seem to wear similar things whether on school night out or a ball. dunno why.
but i do have chunky ankle boots and smart ankle boots. so i guess i am making SOME effort.

I loathe court shoes - they are very unfashionable and terribly sensible and rather ageing.

It very much depends on the style of ankle boots. I have several pairs that are quite dainty and very fitted to my foot with a V cut over the instep, so look dressy not chunky.

are those comfortable Peace i thought they might fall off my foot.
