Does anyone have any recommendations for a really nice brush set? The MAC set looks quite nice but it says “mini brushes” - do I want to get mini brushes?? It’s for DILs Christmas pressie. Thanks in advance!

Boots had some fantastic gift sets recently. I like the No7 brushes.

Real techniques do some nice brush sets.

Are they nice quality? I’ve been looking at Bobbi Brown and MAC sets but no idea what I’m looking for really. Is real hair better? Is it even ethical? Clueless.

I'm pretty sure it's just the handle that are shorter and the brush heads are the same size. I've got some smaller Mac brushes and they are easier to store and take out and about with me and they usually come in a nice case. Mac brushes take some beating.

Great thank you all!! MAC it’ll be then 😁

I have a Mac mini set from probably 8 years ago. Still my go too brushes (ex MUA). Sigma brushes are also really good.

Zoeva brushes are good - have been usimg them for over two years and they're like new. Similar pricepoint as MAC.

I buy brushes individually from the body shop, they are quite pricey but last for years and they are such a nice shape and feel ( apart from when children get hold of them 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬)

Real Techniques get the job done
And they have some pretty sets

I really rate Real Techniques - Amazon or Superdrug do good prices on them. The Superdrug .B range is good as well.

Some of the mini mac brushes are not the same quality as the full size. If you want mac brushes I say get the full size ones or get something else like real techniques (some fab ones in tk maxx) or BH cosmetics

FlyingPenguine · 24/11/2019 07:50

Real techniques are very good. I've also got a couple of highlighter brushes from Body Shop which are excellent. I think MAC a bit overpriced.

ZaraW · 24/11/2019 13:50

I use IT cosmetics and find them better quality than my old MAC brushes.

I would really recommend not buying MAC Christmas sets
They are really not good quality
Either go for a Zoeva set or if you are near London Stratford there is a a morphe shop which do excellent brushes
I think boots have started to stock morphe but not the whole range
