Very vain - help me

I know this is a longer term problem but I need some quick advice. I wear a lot of make up every day - it makes me feel good and I think I look good and I find it hard to stop. However in the next couple of weeks I will be spending the night with someone for the first time and will have to take my make up off. Any tips?

I'm thinking of getting my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted. Anything else I can do? I have awful pale skin tone with red spider veins and dark circles under my eyes. I just look awful without make up. Please help!

I leave mine on. It's only one night.

I’d get tinting done + fake tan so you have a bit of colour even with the make up off.

LaLaLanded · 17/11/2019 17:25

Yep, get the tinting done, do a fake tan and get your hair done too. Eyelash extensions if it helps?

I’m sure you don’t look awful without make up... he won’t be wearing any (I assume) and probably isn’t a supermodel! Nobody is perfect.

lotsofstripes · 17/11/2019 17:30

Tinting eyebrows and eyelashes goes a long way imo - stops your face looking so bare and washed out. I’m very pale and that helps. Same goes for fake tan.

That being said OP, I’m sure you’ll look absolutely fine either way. Flowers

Thanks I feel like you all understand rather than telling me to get over it!

I wouldn’t leave a full face on overnight, there’s no telling how rough it may look in the morning (especially if sex is involved)

Tbh if those are your main concerns, you’ll still look like yourself without makeup - the people who look the most different without makeup are those who heavily contour and change their features.

Along with the above suggestions, I think you should also invest in some skincare bits to give your skin a boost and even out your complexion. Even just a glowy face mask will give you a boost.

twentyplustwenty · 17/11/2019 18:44

Can you recommend a glowy face mask and when would I use this?

Take your full makeup off and maybe apply a touch of light concealer on the areas that concern you, and some gorgeous tinted lip balm.
Agree to the tinted eyelashes, I have mine done all the time and to the fake tan if your budget allows 😉
Have a lovely time x

A very faint subtle hint of facial take tan covers a multitude.

MoltonSilver · 17/11/2019 22:30

Fake tan

If you’re spending the night actually take your makeup off before bed. I’d much rather someone saw me bare faced but with clean skin than last nights foundation on!

Like other PP have mentioned, get some face tan (I just got Tan Luxe Super Glow- which is hyaluronic acid with fake tan in a serum, it’s ace) on for a few nights before. When you take your makeup off before bed, give yourself a good facial massage to look glowy. If you want to redo your eyebrows etc then you can do then and then add with a bit of blusher. I’d get lash extensions if you can or just get them tinted.

But key thing is to take off your base before bed, but feel free to add back in the important things if you want to look more alive. For me I’d add a tiny bit of concealer on a warm finger on my redness, pencil in my brows, put a tiny bit of blusher on my apples and then put some nice lip balm on!

Sickoffamilydrama · 17/11/2019 23:02

In all honesty any man who is sharing your bed will probably be so happy that they won't notice the difference between no make up, unless you completely change your looks with make up and even then I'm sure they will be far more interested in other things Wink

How about some BB cream or an illuminating one so you get that glow but maybe you can find other ways to get that on your nights away!

managedmis · 18/11/2019 02:02

I'd have to have at least mascara and fake tan on. No way would I be going completely bare faced!

CountFosco · 18/11/2019 12:23

Firstly, if tinting your brows and eyelashes make you feel more confident and so more able to relax and concentrate on enjoying the sex then go for it.

But I would caution against wearing any makeup that will come off on the pillows and sheets, that's quite minging. And you do know of course that any man worth fucking will not think negatively about seeing you barefaced, many men actually prefer a fresh face.

MerryDeath · 18/11/2019 19:06

urgh please don't sleep in your make up! if he's worth it he will not care/think you are beautiful both ways!!!!!! love thy fleshy human self .... sorry if that's not what you want to hear but i feel sad that women go around thinking this way Confused

Delatron · 18/11/2019 19:49

Could you sneak to the bathroom early before he wakes? I know it’s not very feminist etc but I’m sure I’ve done that in the past. Just happened to be going for a 6am wee. Quick bit of moisturiser, bit of a mascara top up etc. Not a full face obviously.
