Are they leather?

oohnicevase · 18/11/2019 21:30

Make sure you get them out as soon as they are done , smooth out the drum lines and stuff with paper .. dry near but not on a radiator ( pref an airing cupboard )

brightonroc · 18/11/2019 21:40

They came out looking fine - now drying by the radiator. They're a bit stiff but nothing a suede brush won't sort out. Thanks!

30 ° op? Powder + softener?

oohnicevase · 19/11/2019 06:48

Goodo .. they do wash well and they will soften with wear ..'work ' them as they dry so they don't get a chance to dry too stiff.

brightonroc · 19/11/2019 07:09

Cold wash, delicate and no softener just powder.

They've come out great. Quick brush over with a soft toothbrush. Their shape has come back as well as the suede nicely restored - almost as good as a dry clean and much cheaper - deffo cheaper than a new pair!!

Yep .. I'm an ex dry cleaner and always washed them.. so much better !

dudsville · 20/11/2019 19:14

Anyone (oohnicevase!) Ever washed the leather ones? I have the ankle boots.

oohnicevase · 20/11/2019 19:42

I haven't put I have washed leather jackets and bags .

dudsville · 20/11/2019 21:21

Thanks oohnice, in the machine? May I ask what temp and cycle?

oohnicevase · 21/11/2019 00:04

Yes I'm the machine , on 30 on a delicates .. get it out straight away . They trick is the drying really. Make sure whatever it is isn't too wet but not spun too much and dry near but not directly on heat . Work the skin as it dries in whatever form it is . Always hang clothing ASAP and smooth as it dries .

dudsville · 22/11/2019 20:58

Thanks oohnice!!!

ReeRi · 23/11/2019 23:13

Wow this is interesting - wouldn’t have thought to put them in the machine!
