Really warm, smartish coat?

I'm looking for something to keep me warm and dry, but which is also nice enough to wear on a night out or work, (if I ever get back to work, which I hope I will - SAHM at the moment).

I am a tall size 16 apple shape who suits navy and brown better than black.

Happy to pay a reasonable amount for something that I will get a lot of wear out of.

The other suggestion is buy a really lightweight down jacket, uniglo is good, under a less warm coat that you like.

Ooooooh thank you.

My 'nice' coat is a 14, so on the snug side. I can get away with a jumper, but not an extra coat I wouldn't have thought.

I’ve got a really lightweight gilet that is down and squashed down to nothing that I wear under my ice coat, it doesn’t look bulky or anything.its the ultralight at the bottom of this link www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/outerwear/down-coats-jackets-vests

They have some nice warm coats too, but I’ve got a big middle so I look better in something with a shaped waist or belt.
