Is Lululemon overrated?

I've recently bought classes at this indoor cycling spin class place, and am in dire need of nice new leggings to motivate myself to actually go before it all expires.

My current go-to pair is the 7/8 training tights from Nike (I'm barely 5'3" and unfortunately some full length ones are too long for me), but the Lululemon Wunder Under ones look pretty tempting as I'll be able to get more colours!

How do they compare?

I don't LL leggings. Alo Yoga are my favourite. The quality is great and designs are fab.

You won't be disappointed in the LL Wunder Under ones - I'm around the same size as you and they're a great fit and last for ever.

furrytoebean · 16/11/2019 17:38

I have always put off buying them because I think paying £88 for a pair of leggings is ridiculous and I still hold a gripe from when the CEO said he didn't want fat people wearing his leggings, and the fact that they treat their workers like shit.

But I got a pair for a present, and I love them so so much. So comfy.

ToEllewithIt · 16/11/2019 18:20

They last and last. I have wunder unders that are a decade old. They get warm though. I prefer fast and frees for sweaty stuff and aligns for yoga because they feel great but they do pill sadly. None of them lose their shape or go see-through.

Inliverpool1 · 16/11/2019 19:37

Just make sure they fit, you can always resell them on eBay as you drop sizes but they do in my opinion come up small

NuovaMoi · 16/11/2019 21:20

I think the leggings are worth the money but everything else in the store is overpriced

spinspincycle · 16/11/2019 21:29

Thanks for the replies!

Friend of mine just told me that the cut on the 'All the Right Places' series is even better because of the way the seam is on the crotch area (?) so am currently considering that one too. Will probably go down to the shop on Monday but knowing myself, I need to go in with specific cut/colours in mind so I don't end up with way more pieces than necessary. Grin

I prefer Lorna Jane leggings much more substantial and their tops are better quality. I haven’t bought Lululemon leggings but their tops are shit quality.

MoltoAgitato · 16/11/2019 21:38

I’m only an inch taller than you and all the LL leggings I have tried on are half a foot too long, FWIW.

mamaoffourdc · 16/11/2019 21:49

I'm 5ft 2 1/2 inches tall and lulu lemons 7/8 are amazing! In fact the only leggings that like right in my shirt frame!

Ooh they're in Selfridges – might have to check them out this week too. Do you have a particular fit/model to recommend? I'm looking for something somewhat thick, with good support/compression, preferably high-rise and geared more towards running/cycling than yoga.

Yeah I'm usually limited to crops or 7/8 ones when it comes to leggings. Think I saw some with a 24" inseam which is perfect for me. Ideally, I'd like to be 4" taller but alas!

My ex lived in these so they're on my list too, especially the Airlifts!

No. They aren’t cheap l admit but they last forever

jcurve · 17/11/2019 08:53

I prefer Sweaty Betty to Lulu, their Power tights are fantastic for anything cardio.

Unders are quite heavy tights that I wear for yoga/travel.

jcurve · 17/11/2019 08:53

Sorry that should be Wunder Unders are heavy

Have you tried Lucky Locket Loves leggings?

Check out the website for some brilliant designs.

The active wear are so well fitted and comes in an amazing array of designs.

I have a couple of pairs myself (mixed tapes and sea animals) and have bought DD and my sister some for Christmas.
