Ski Holiday Skincare - what do you recommend?

I am off in January, and it's only the second time I have been. I like to stock up on new skin stuff for holidays, or at least stuff that is more of a treat, but as my usual holiday is to hot places I am a bit stumped with skiing skin stuff. I have normal skin and, er, normal hair so am reasonably easy to please!

Factor 50!

Yes to a really good sunscreen and get a nice rich lip balm as well to prevent chapping.

Agreed. Strong facial sunscreen. Even if it isn’t sunny in January the wind will burn your face. A decent SPF lip balm too.

Don’t get Piz Buin! Stings your eyes something chronic.

Dry shampoo for the mornings if you don’t want to do a hair wash in the morning and another post-helmet.

Your skin will drink moisturiser after a day on the slopes, and if you have some of those tanning drops to mix in you can tone down the inevitable face redness.

but which brands? I normally use a Roche Posay one which is light due to being somewhere warm, I am guessing I need something a LOT more moisturising.

I really like 8 Hour cream as a lip balm but might have to get the one with spf in it

I use ultrasound factor 50 facial sunscreen and lip balm, on top I put tinted moisturiser. Reapply at lunch. Then you need a good moisturiser for the evening. I wash hair after the slopes rather than in the morning as it can get a bit yuck post helmet. I just use whatever is in the hotel/chalet as I’m gross like that then brush through some hair oil.

Laroche Posay Anthelios (sp?) is very good. You won’t go far wrong with that.

I use the tropic factor 50 tan stuff. Nicked my friends on year 1. Game changer.

JemimaPyjamas · 17/11/2019 16:50

@WingingWonder do you mean this one?
