Comfortable flat work shoes and trousers - returning to work help!

Hello, I’ve got a professional job after years at home and I need a new simple work wardrobe.
I’ve got black trousers and Chelsea boots but I feel a bit dated. Do you know any comfy shoe and trouser combinations that don’t cost too much? I’m so used to living in jeans and trainers I don’t know where to start! (And I’m very confused about what length trousers and shoe combinations are current!!)

Thanks

Do you have a budget? My advice is to have a personal shopper session at somewhere like John Lewis. They cater for all budgets so even if you have a limited budget it's helpful and it's okay not to buy anything! Other stores do it too. It really helps ( I did it after maternity leave and when I got promotions). Otherwise try M&S or next

I got some really smart but comfirtabke work shoes from Clarkes. Got work trousers from Debenhams.

M&S have done some great straight cut work trousers in the last few years, I always look there first. They have some nice high cut wide leg ones also at the moment.

Ankle boots are still fashionable. I have some comfy black suede ones with a little heel that look just as good with trousers or a dress. From Sainsburys!

I'd say get 4 dresses, a couple of jackets- or even better a couple of trouser suits where the jackets can be worn separately to smarten up a dress, tights, and roll neck tops in a few colours. Comfortable low heeled shoes and some boots. Maybe a couple of skirts but I tend to either wear a dress or a top and trousers.

Basically what I live in at work in the cooler months.
